BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 14

there are two suits after all, maybe they're saving the iron-bat for later and just wanting to take care of the batfleck image to the public

Meh now that the movie is coming out in 2016, I don't care if they wait until 2015 to release pics of the Batman and Wonder Woman suits. I don't care about them releasing a pic of a tweaked Superman suit because it's nothing really new.

Yeah, I'd rather they retake the promos until Ben/Henry/Gal are in their optimum shape. I've no interest in seeing them mid-training.

I'm not particularly worried about Henry, but the one good thing about the film delay was it gave a bit more time for the other two to "catch up".

If you release material after your movie has opened your movie will bomb or greatly disappoint.

Yeah, why would you wait till after the movie opens?! That would be a huge mistep on the studio's part. The whole point for films like these is to build a buzz BEFOREthe film is released and promo pictures would do that.

Also, who's to say they could release a teaser photo, say of a partial or full silhouette of Batfleck- just a taste to wet our appetites a bit. I'd be down for even that.

It's a pipe dream and likely won't ever happen, but I would love them to treat Batman differently and have his image hidden for as long as possible. Similar to that of Cloverfield. Within the context of MOS, it even fits as Goyer has already stated Batman isn't publicly known. To have his image kept from us would only make the anticipation even greater.

No one's going to wait until after obviously, I'm just say that I miss the days when you'd only hear about movies by seeing trailers, then go see it. All this bonus stuff and behind the scenes and sneak access...and worse, the perception of entitlement to it...I think is actually detrimental to the viewing experience, even though it's marketing 101.

Gotcha- huess i didnt gather your meaning initially.

Man, I would also love that. I wish WB would have the BALLS to do that.

That would be absolutely incredible. Too bad it'll never in a million years happen.

It would be possible, too. I can't imagine too many outdoors/daytime scenes for Ben to shoot in costume. Even back during the Batman Begins days, I'm having a hard time remembering whether there were many (if any) shots of Bale inside the suit, which weren't promo material.

Oh no. This news cannot be unseen...must resist temptation...to...look for suits. Help me Spock!

How about when there's enough light to see his regular eyes...they're regular eyes. When he's in silhouette or it's too dark to see anything but a dark shape...we see the white eyes like we do in comics/animation. Just let it be a visual, no explanation or lenses, contact, lights or such. It's just there when it needs to be, and not there when we can see his eyes.

Now you're talking.

This brand spanking new cover artwork by Lee Bermejo looks very similar to Mark's description of the new batsuit posted a little while back on Forbes:

"... yes the bat-suit will be black and gray. I’ve been told it’s a sort of fabric uniform — not cloth or spandex, mind you — similar to what Captain America wears in the Marvel movies, with some armoring mixed in."

Independent artist Shawn Reeves also recently commented that the ears on the suit are very short, much like in the pic below. :hmm

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the suit.

I was hoping they wouldn't go with the short ears but I love everything about the suit in that pic so I guess it won't bother me as much as I thought it would. Hopefully they go with something close to that pic. I really hope they do the white eyes too.

Im just not a fan of the padded, puffy look that Lee shows on his suits. Looks quilted or something. Smooth that stuff out and Id take it.

I'm not a fan of the short ears, myself. I can live with it, though.

As for Bermejo's latest rendering, I agree. It's a marked improvement over his previous depiction of the character, as seen in Batman: Noel.

This please, Snyder!

I am starting to wonder these days though if the belt should be black to break up the suit a bit better, as the yellow and grey are too close (and why yellow anyway really?). Obviously all the traditionalist here will disagree, but remember you're trying to make up for the area that was predominantly black with the trunks to break up the suit.

I think the yellow belt breaks up the monochromatic nature of the suit. Since there most likely wont be any blue in the suit, Id want the yellow - muted though.
