BvS The Batsuit Thread - - Part 18

For Supes and Spidey, we can accept the musculature (airbrushed/padding) because they don't wear armour and we accept that we can see their musculature through the fabric. Sure the new suit looks cool, but doesn't really make sense (which isn't something that should be dismissed).

Batman doesn't wear "armour" in the metal-plate sense. It's easily accepted that whatever protection he deems necessary is very thin and follows the contours of his body.

There are thousands of pages of debate about this. Someone like BatScot's post history should lead you right to it.

I'm still not a fan of the new Bat symbol. I was hoping the Bat's main body would be more slender.

A thought: Why would Bruce mold all those muscles on to his costume? What advantage could this give a guy who works in the shadows?

The suit's molded/sculpted muscles are meant to be harmonious with that of Affleck's current physique, much like the way Cavill's costume complemented his impressive build. It's called suspension of disbelief.

None of the manips of this new suit are as good as the original official photo we got earlier.

Why is it so hard for some to suspend disbelief with this suit already?! It looks fab. Does it matter if it looks unreal ? Get your heads out of Nolan's arse. If you can belief ironman can hover 3ft above a crowd without melting faces off, or superman can be helped to his feet by lois lane, yu can belief this suit will work in the Snyder verse

I think that we need to set aside the Nolan mentality. For Snyder, it seems, you don't need an excuse for things to look good or how they are supposed to.

This... This is one of the most important quotes to me..

Before Nolan... Fans were sooooo less picky...
The mentality of justifying everything within the real world, and materials that "actually" exist became a fans thought process as well.. Due to Nolan beating us over the head with it.

Did I need to know what type of rubber Batman used for his suit in the '89 film? Nope.. But it was bullitt proof? Cool... I do not need to know..

Suit looked cool.. Looked like Batman.. I was pleased..
These days it is a tougher crowd, full of us being able to express our opinions 24 hours a day on the internet.. Which is fun..

I am simply happy that we have, hopefully, left that behind us..
This new look, looks like The Batman..
And Batman finally looks like someone that will knock you out cold, if you were caught out at night by him, doing something that you shouldn't be doing..

That is perfect.

The short ears, the short, sharp-looking fins on the gloves, the fabric-y look, the huge symbol. Absolutely perfect.

And as long as there's not a HINT of blue in the full color version, I will be 100% happy with the new Batsuit and Ben Affleck as Batman.

Now to wait for more dynamic action shots of Batman in this Batsuit.

the thread moves so fast
i hope to get an oppinion of you guys on a question i have...why have both suits a textured logo on it? the style should vary a bit more between them. it's not that they bought the suit at the same store...what do you think?

Agreed the manips are doing nothing for me. The official photo we got is perfection.

I understand that completely, just wondering why Bruce would go to the trouble of moulding armoured muscles exactly like his own with fabric/spandex over it. What advantage does it give him tactically? Again, in order for suspension of disbelief to occur, one needs solid internal logic. We'll see how it plays out onscreen.

I'm sure of that :funny:

Just seems a bit odd that he'd mould muscles to look like his own and then wear fabric over that.

Yes, apparently that's the only reason someone might take exception with a design element of this suit. :whatever:

Exactly this well said.

I just...I just want at least one "A comic accurate Batsuit wont work" poster to just admit that they were wrong on this one.

Do you think the color schemes going too be black/gray or blue/gray?

I think somebody saved a lot of posts that made those kind of claims. Hopefully they re-emerge.

The cloth-like look wouldn't work they say.

He needs to wear armor for a "grounded" take on Batman they say....

I was on that train for a long time. It took me a while to realize that comic accuracy didn't limit itself to thin fabric directly over skin.

I thought it would look good, but this is better than I expected. There's definitely a lot of Miller influence, and a bit of Bermejo on the cape. Looks like something right out of a comicbook.

The negativity will start to seep into this thread in a minute as everyone who loves it will be too busy drooling over it to post. XD

The new suit looks good, and a welcome change from Nolan's armour. I think the shorter ears could be so that Batman doesn't look even taller than Superman than he already is. The long ears would add a few inches more, and he's already about 3 inches taller than Cavill.

Agree. Nothing requires to be fixed or "improved" on the photo. It's flawless.

The suit's awesome, yeah, but Affleck fills out that thing sooooo nicely. He has THE body for this. I mean, holy crap...he bulked the **** the up. 100% perfection. Hoping the bat symbol is darker than the rest, but that really matters very little compared to how absolutely spot-on the rest is. I mean...ooooh my god. A true Batman suit. Finally.
