BvS The Batsuit Thread - - Part 18

Interesting direction for the suit. Need to look at more pictures to determine how it actually looks. First reaction is I am not blown away, but holding judgement till further better pictures (and even need to see the suit in motion).

Interesting how the ears started long-ish with Keaton, got shorter with Bale and are not stubby with Affleck.

The new suit looks good, and a welcome change from Nolan's armour. I think the shorter ears could be so that Batman doesn't look even taller than Superman than he already is. The long ears would add a few inches more, and he's already about 3 inches taller than Cavill.

Totally makes sense, and I've been thinking that since I knew the ears would be short months ago.

The suit's awesome, yeah, but Affleck fills out that thing sooooo nicely. He has THE body for this. I mean, holy crap...he bulked the **** the up. 100% perfection.

I wanted to say the same. Affleck sports it perfectly.

This is a suit that is perfect for Batman if he is going to be alongside Cavill's Superman. Bale's suit looks too boring next to Cavill's Super-suit.

I remember being hardcore for the all black mentality as far back as 2007, but recent years I've not cared simply because the discussion and arguing just got tiresome. However, in the last few years, I've been yearning to see the black/gray done on the big screen. I think it took the Arkham games to really turn that tide. I've been absolutely giddy this afternoon over what we've gotten.

Hmm... I don't know what to think of the new suit. The texture is unlike anything I ever imagined. I need to see it in motion.

So far, the only thing I don't totally love, is the cowl. I think I prefer the one from Arkham Origins more. But overall, that's a pretty interesting and unique take on the Bat suit.

Then you must be ecstatic because it doesn't look like it's made out of spandex.

Well it looks like some kind of fabric. I don't like the bat symbol. Scream fatman more than Batman lol.

The mask and Batmobile are awesome though

Yep... For almost 30 years, some of us have been waiting for a vision like this...

Batman has had so many different looks, done by so many different artists over the years? It is almost impossible to please everyone..

Love the cowl.. And finally, short ears.. The jawline looks fantastic.. Sweeping up to the ears.. And it looks like it has an organic feel with expression in it? Looks like the neck will have good mobility as well...
As fan of the black bat emblem over the oval? I am happy.. We have had the oval done well, the styled bat in "BB", the unnoticeable bat in "TDK" and the other...

I have wanted to see the old school Miller one for a long time..
No doubt that there will be a difference in color (emblem to suit) once other pics are revealed..
That I look forward to... And to me? It does look like the cowl contains some texture as well? Almost like material? That is something that I have wanted to see as well.

So many details to take in.. We haven't even seen it in all it's glory yet..
I am one that really disliked the suits in Nolan's "TDK" and "TDKR".. I grew tired of all of the reasoning and the "why's".. It was a mess, and not what the fans wanted to see.
This single image puts those to darn shame, and it IS what some of us fans have been waiting for.

Agree. Nothing requires to be fixed or "improved" on the photo. It's flawless.

Does this mean that once we see the suit in color, and it is indeed similar to at least one of the manips we've seen, you'll think it's a disappointment?

2. This is the WORST movie that they could have possibly picked to start going with that. He's going up against freaking Superman.

There's a difference between comic accurate and literally using the early comic book suits.

Why would Bruce mold the suit to have muscles? Well by doing that, the suit will have maximum flexibility.The suit will bend like his natural body does and he can add armor under the surface as well.

And of course the other idea is that the suits muscles are more him then being just a mold.

And honestly removing nostalgia, the original Keaton suit(the Returns one is leagues better) has some build issues that luckily dark scenes and a cape hide. Notice that Keaton usually was covered by his cape. Kilmer and beyond the cape was more and more behind the body.

Bale covers up but that's for certain shots, otherwise the cape is behind him.

I agree. The Arkham Origins cowl was perfect.

Hoping the bat symbol is darker than the rest, but that really matters very little compared to how absolutely spot-on the rest is. I mean...ooooh my god. A true Batman suit. Finally.

I hope you know that it's a muscle suit. It's not actually his muscles haha.

The bodysuit itself is very reminiscent of Earth One's Batsuit, one solid piece and seams and no trunks. The cowl is reminiscent of Bermejo more than Lee or Miller. The glove spikes are absolutely taken from Lee/Miller though. Batsymbol is definitely Miller.

Great combination of Batsuits for a movie.

Batman has no trouble wearing the batsuit against Superman in the past, so what's stopping this from working?

Hopefully the cape will be able to drape closed in the front, hiding the suit entirely.

The cape is folded over in the pic we got just like was done with Keaton's. Looks like the edges are designed to hang straight down in front.
