It doubles as a forklift. Duh!
Yes, because the Batman characters from the previous Batman films looked nothing like Batman. No, I do not take exception with Batman being muscular, nor any other aspect of the character (hence your strawman argument denigrating me and questioning whether I was a "real fan" for dilking aspects of the suit)

But, you see, that's really not true.
Plenty of Batman fans and non-Batman fans have reasonable complaints about the suit that I and others have accepted and acknowledged. You just have to understand how your blanket statements of "too comic book-y" and "well-made cosplay" could by perceived as ridiculous by many of us here.
And I'm sorry, but comparing this to Cap's suit in the Avengers is another one of those ridiculous statments, if I'm being honest.
A while back I thought that nolans Batman universe looked good mainly by comparison to the horrible Batman films that it replaced. I felt that when a new Batman came along which would likely not sink back to the horrible level of clooney Batman we would realize just how weak an interpretation of Batman that bale actually was.
Now here we have this one single image of batffleck and many are already saying how far superior he looks.
Oh yes, its happening nolanites. Bale is gonna get taken down a notch.
I didn't like them either.I like the stubs.
I do not like the ears Nolan went with. Never have. So for me these stubs are an improvement and they make the cowl look stockier. My only issue with long ears (like those in the Arkham games) is they are a bit silly looking at times.
And a bad guy could grab his cape. Even the short ears are enough to grab onto.Plus a bad guy could grab them or try to anyways. I imagine batman would end that real quick.

I never thought I would see the day that fans would hate a costume for looking too much like the comics.
No you said it doesn't make sense for a guy being stealthy in the shadows to be wearing grey. That's Batman. Tell me you don't like the ears, or the belt, or whatever details, but you described Batman in general, and he doesn't make sense to you.
No marks for you at all.
a movie featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman being too comic booky????
Well, it seems the Marvel fanboys are out in force, but I don't think the shine can be taken off this.
I have been arguing against the notion that only a black rubber wetsuit can work as a movie Batsuit for about nine years. I feel like I can close that chapter of my life tonight.![]()

Here's a revolutionary thought. I love this Affleck Batsuit, and already think it's my favourite visual interpretation of Batman on the big screen yet. But that doesn't change the fact that Christian Bale gave the definitive movie Batman performance for me, that Bale himself is one of my favourite actors, and he remains the Batman to beat. I still love the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy, and The Dark Knight remains my favourite movie. And here's the craziest part of all: I also still have a deep fondness of the Tim Burton Batman movies going back to my childhood.
There are different interpretations of Batman, each with their own strengths. And no one is holding a gun to our head and saying we can only like one and then by law have to take a dump on all the others.

it only took 7 movies!!t:
I like the B89/BR/BB type suits but indeed, it's time for something visually different. This is undeniably Batman and evokes the comics strongly. Is anyone else still in shock that this is actually real? I can't believe we're actually getting this suit!!![]()

Never understood the love of long/huge ears. Kelley's art always made them look stupid and in a real world context they'd be unwieldy as all get up.
I think when you use extreme terms such as "it looks like cosplay," people tend to jump on it and want to know why because you're using a backhanded comment. The difference is I don't think anyone else is ridiculous for liking the costume. I understand why they like the costume, I understand why people like the Captain America Avengers costume. Why do I have to go into such detailed lengths to explain my dislike? If people who like it can get away with saying 'It looks awesome! Just like the comic book!' why should I have to justify my opinion in further detail in order to avoid anger? I'm sorry, but as much as I love being a part of the Bat community there's this side of it that I dislike completely, the inability to a) read between the lines and understand what someone is saying b) accept that not everyone loves everything from the comics.
