Is anyone else still in shock that this is actually real? I can't believe we're actually getting this suit!! :D :D :D

I like the stubs.

I do not like the ears Nolan went with. Never have. So for me these stubs are an improvement and they make the cowl look stockier. My only issue with long ears (like those in the Arkham games) is they are a bit silly looking at times. Plus a bad guy could grab them or try to anyways. I imagine batman would end that real quick.

Yes, because the Batman characters from the previous Batman films looked nothing like Batman :whatever:. No, I do not take exception with Batman being muscular, nor any other aspect of the character (hence your strawman argument denigrating me and questioning whether I was a "real fan" for dilking aspects of the suit)

I don't know anything about this "real fan" stuff, but I do think this costume looks more like comic batman than some previous suits like TDK and TDKR suits. The shadowy look of the pic is well done in terms of atmosphere as well.

I need to be honest; judging by that picture, I am not of fan of this look. I don't think it's the design that I don't like, nearly as much as the execution. I love the cowl and love the idea of a gray, fabric based suit. I really hate the sculpted muscle. As soon as I saw it I felt like I was looking at a giant action figure. The texture on suit, from that picture at least, looks to me like a cheap thermal shirt. I'm really disappointed with the leather gauntlets, too, as the armored versions have a great look to them (ie Arkham Asylum) especially when contrasted against the fabric suit.

I think what has me really bummed about the suit is that I saw a number of manips on these boards that I was a big fan of and felt they brought a new vision of the character that still retained everything we love about Batman. There was one specifically that used the Cap suit in Winter Soldier as a basis and looked really great.

But, you see, that's really not true.

Plenty of Batman fans and non-Batman fans have reasonable complaints about the suit that I and others have accepted and acknowledged. You just have to understand how your blanket statements of "too comic book-y" and "well-made cosplay" could by perceived as ridiculous by many of us here.

And I'm sorry, but comparing this to Cap's suit in the Avengers is another one of those ridiculous statments, if I'm being honest.

The difference is I don't think anyone else is ridiculous for liking the costume. I understand why they like the costume, I understand why people like the Captain America Avengers costume. Why do I have to go into such detailed lengths to explain my dislike? If people who like it can get away with saying 'It looks awesome! Just like the comic book!' why should I have to justify my opinion in further detail in order to avoid anger? I'm sorry, but as much as I love being a part of the Bat community there's this side of it that I dislike completely, the inability to a) read between the lines and understand what someone is saying b) accept that not everyone loves everything from the comics.

All we need now is to hear the new Batvoice, then I can start daydreaming about Batfleck in action. :D

A while back I thought that nolans Batman universe looked good mainly by comparison to the horrible Batman films that it replaced. I felt that when a new Batman came along which would likely not sink back to the horrible level of clooney Batman we would realize just how weak an interpretation of Batman that bale actually was.

Now here we have this one single image of batffleck and many are already saying how far superior he looks.

Oh yes, its happening nolanites. Bale is gonna get taken down a notch.

Here's a revolutionary thought. I love this Affleck Batsuit, and already think it's my favourite visual interpretation of Batman on the big screen yet. But that doesn't change the fact that Christian Bale gave the definitive movie Batman performance for me, that Bale himself is one of my favourite actors, and he remains the Batman to beat. I still love the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy, and The Dark Knight remains my favourite movie. And here's the craziest part of all: I also still have a deep fondness of the Tim Burton Batman movies going back to my childhood.

There are different interpretations of Batman, each with their own strengths. And no one is holding a gun to our head and saying we can only like one and then by law have to take a dump on all the others.

I didn't like them either.

And a bad guy could grab his cape. Even the short ears are enough to grab onto.

I never thought I would see the day that fans would hate a costume for looking too much like the comics.

Sometimes what works on paper doesn't work on film. Who knows, maybe I'll love it on film, but as it is, I't's not my cup 'o tea.

No you said it doesn't make sense for a guy being stealthy in the shadows to be wearing grey. That's Batman. Tell me you don't like the ears, or the belt, or whatever details, but you described Batman in general, and he doesn't make sense to you.

No marks for you at all.

Really? Gray=Batman. Wow. That is so literal that it boggles my mind. Because I think one aesthetic interpretation of a character on film (not paper) works better, suddenly you're telling me I don't "understand the character". Seriously lol. Some people just can't take a dissenting opinion.

Different opinions and all, we can all still get along!

a movie featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman being too comic booky????

I just hope Superman is in the film! :p

Well, it seems the Marvel fanboys are out in force, but I don't think the shine can be taken off this.

I have been arguing against the notion that only a black rubber wetsuit can work as a movie Batsuit for about nine years. I feel like I can close that chapter of my life tonight. :)

I'm a Marvel fanboy and I love the batsuit/batmobile combo! Batman seems to be finally back! :)

I never thought I would see the day that fans would hate a costume for looking too much like the comics.

I would, people all want different things. I never thought I could see a day where Superman fans would like MOS. :p

As comic book fans though we really are blessed to even be getting all these movies, even when our complaining makes us blind to the fact!

That ****'s getting really, really tiresome.

I like it. It looks good and practical. Now if they'd only get the movie out.

It's all good jmc and everyone else who hates it. I was in the same position with TDKR.

But for me, I'm in looooove with it!

I like the B89/BR/BB type suits but indeed, it's time for something visually different. This is undeniably Batman and evokes the comics strongly.

Never understood the love of long/huge ears. Kelley's art always made them look stupid and in a real world context they'd be unwieldy as all get up.

Because long ears are awesome and strike the most fear into adversaries everywhere....Arkham series ear length was perfect...I'm sure I'll get over these ears rather quickly tho

If Affleck's performance lives up to the suit... he may just be the best Batman yet.

AMC Movie Talk spent the first 9:30 talking about the suit along with Christian Harloff from Schmoes Know.

It goes without saying that they liked the suit.

I think when you use extreme terms such as "it looks like cosplay," people tend to jump on it and want to know why because you're using a backhanded comment.
