He just said that Batman doesn't make sense to him. I can't get my head around it. Do you know if he's a fan or came here by mistake? What the actual f***?

Poor marks for you today. Because I don't like design elements of the costume I'm not a "real fan"? What are these, praise boards? Seems like everyone just wants an echo chamber to repeat their own opinion back at them.

Why is it so difficult for the "fans" to accept dissenting viewpoints?

Your guess is as good as mine...

Well, it seems the Marvel fanboys are out in force, but I don't think the shine can be taken off this.

I have been arguing against the notion that only a black rubber wetsuit can work as a movie Batsuit for about nine years. I feel like I can close that chapter of my life tonight. :)

Amen and amen-ah!

Are we going to laugh someone out of a thread every time they say something we don't like?

Just business as usual. The same people that criticize the "haters" all over the rest of the net for 'judging a film they haven't seen perform the same elitist attitude when people disagree with their thoughts; even though NO ONE has seen hardly anything.

Thoughts on the suit: I think its cool. I don't think its too comic-booky, I wonder who made that observation. I'd probably have to go back through several pages to see his opinion on that, but I'm sure he's got his reasons. My only gripe (and I'm sure someone else might have brought this up) is its lack of color. It could probably use a bit more, but other than that, it stands out from the TDK trilogy suits enough w/o going too far into alien territory (no pun intended). The lack of color gives me a bit of a Black Panther vibe in this particular photo.

Once again, the look & action of the film I have absolutely no worries, doubts, or any form of hesitancy with. When has Snyder done a film that DIDN'T look good or DID NOT have mind-blowing action sequences? I said a few months ago that Affleck was going look amazing in the suit & Snyder & co. was gonna do some excellent cinematography w/ the Batman character alone. The only thing that has got me on the fence about anything is the story, Affleck as Bruce Wayne, & whether they're trying to cram too much story/characters in general. My thoughts SO FAR from what has been presented.

And here we go...

Whoa....for those who have misgivings about the suit....important thing to remember is that you're looking at a still picture.

It's much better off being judged how it's intended, like.....

I understand those feels.

I also understand the people who don't quite like it.

That's how I've felt for every batman suit until this one. Finally I can be part of the "love it!" club. At least there will be something I will enjoy about this movie for sure and thing is the joy of looking at a lovely batsuit. :hrt:

The level of immaturity in this community is frankly astounding sometimes.

I figure three pages are going to disappear when C. Lee inevitably shows up.

Some folks need to chill.

lol :whatever:

Did you just have a stroke? Where did you get that from what I said?

I was merely pointing out the irony that you said it doesn't make sense for a man to wear a grey suit that looks muscular if he operates from the shadows and uses stealth. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne's whole purpose for dressing up as a bat (which wouldn't make sense in our "reality" either) is to look like a creature of the night who could beat the living **** out of you.

Oh, yeah, and as the other dude said, grey camolfauges vetter in darkness than black.

omg on the reading comprehension. Do you seriously not see what I was getting at or how it related to what you said? It's called internal logic and consistency. Just because one conceit is fantastical (a guy dressing as a bat) doesn't meant it needs to be executed in a completely fantastical way (a suit that looks exactly like the comics- why? because it looks cool).

Enjoy your strawman argument you've invented over there, as though I take issue with the concept of Batman. Unreal.

I think the suit looks beyond awesome but I was just hoping for long ears kind of like the Arkham series

Surprised? It's been this way for well over ten years.

For some reason it seems worse when it comes to Batman. You can't even be a Batman fan and say anything to the contrary. Par for the course unfortunately.

"Criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot."

That expression harkens back to the inception of the character.

Bruce's aim with the batsuit is to scare the living **** out of criminals. To give off the impression that he is a literal bat demon, rather than some dude running around in plate armor. They don't call him THE Batman for nothing. It ties to the almost urban-myth reputation the character has been known to have throughout his history.

The sculpted musculature accentuates the beastial aesthetic of the costume, which is the whole point of the costume in the first place.

Exactly. No criminal is going to look at those abs or biceps and wonder if they are real. They are going to run the other way and hope to god that the beast in the batsuit doesnt catch them.

Has anyone seen if Bathead has posted his thoughts on it? I know he loves the long ears, so I'm interested in what he thinks of it.

Thought we had footage for a sec... :-P

A while back I thought that nolans Batman universe looked good mainly by comparison to the horrible Batman films that it replaced. I felt that when a new Batman came along which would likely not sink back to the horrible level of clooney Batman we would realize just how weak an interpretation of Batman that bale actually was.

Now here we have this one single image of batffleck and many are already saying how far superior he looks.

Oh yes, its happening nolanites. Bale is gonna get taken down a notch.

Fair point. Thanks for responding maturely and sensibly :yay:

I was specifically referring to the Bat community.

you do know that's a black and white picture

I'd assume they'd go "OH NOEZ. IT'S TEH PUFFY. BETTER CALL BEN." :woot:
