BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 2

I just got back from watching pacific rim and I really liked the black pilot suits in the movie. I feel if they are tweaked a little it could make for a great bat suit in the rebooted batman.

From the movie it looked like it provided pretty good flexibility.

I grew up with it in the Burton films, BF and TAS. For that reason, I will always have a preference for it.

As did I but you don't see me jumping for yellow oval :oldrazz: But we all have a mind of our own and I respect your feedback as well! :yay:

Whatever is done with the costume for the next iteration, the one thing I want to see the most is....

White eye lenses. It'll sure save Bruce a lot of money on black greasepaint in the long run.

Seriously though, I think Batman looks a lot more supernatural and menacing if you can't see his eyes.

The white lenses just wouldn't translate to film properly, unless you go for a SinCity style movie.

They went with the "white lenses" aspect in TDK with his sonar vision. It looked...interesting.

They also did it briefly in BF, and it just looks silly, IMO.

Arkham Origins suit. Something like this would work

I wonder how many times someone new will come in and post the Origins suit. Not that I don't like it, but am I the only one who think it looks very reminiscent of Bale's TDK suit?

Oh, it's basically the exact same thing, but bulkier.

Don't get me wrong, I think that design is badass in it's own right. I like it even more than the Arkham City suit, but I think we're all looking for a little more deviation from the armor-plated look for the next Batman film.

I didn't like it at first, but it has grown on me and does look like a proto-Asylum/City suit. The Injustice suit is a far, far worse offender.

I'm still hoping for a more stripped-down Dark Knight Returns-esque suit (with the big, fat batsymbol across his chest) and with white lenses. The lenses in TDK looked a little silly because they were like bug eyes, if they could flatten them off a bit it would be much better.

Don't think they're that similar. I'd like to see them go with the gunmetal grey.

Better the Origins and TDK suit than the extremely ugly looking brief and spandex looks.

Word.

I like that Nolan got innovative with the suit and the actor and stuntmen can turn their heads a little now. I'd keep going with that with enough tweaks for it to seem different.

They both have that ghastly and illogical jigsaw-puzzle thing on the legs, though the chest-area on the videogame design in less cluttered. The videogame design has those absurd "Popeye" gauntlets and the anatomy of a silverback gorilla on roids, but both suits are similarly unappealing.

Fact: for every genuine call for a "spandex" or Dead End style suit, there are 100,000 claims that this is what those who criticise the rubber wetsuits want.

I wouldn't like to see a plain spandex suit, but I don't want a jigsaw suit either. Go with the classic design styles, but make the material obviously designed for combat. Thicker material that still provides flexibility, not dissimilar to the Captain America suit in TFA (I know this has been said a lot). Make it look more rugged than spandex, but not too overdesigned. And keep the bodysuit grey.

Fact: I'm not talking about what anyone wants based on what they dislike on another suit, I'm just referring to these ugly things that happened to be the currently reposted .

While I will agree full-rubber armor is not the way to go, as a movie costume that needs to look good on-screen, rubber armor sections and padding is necessary. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just naive.

Rubber is needed to make any prospective costume look good? Do you have shares in a rubber plantation or something?

While I don't think a rubber suit is necessary, I don't think that plain spandex or cloth whatever really looks good. A little rubber enhancing a la Man of Steel (although not to that extent) wouldn't go amiss, since plain cloth suits seems to be really slimming, which would step Batman looking particularly intimidating. Chris Reeve was a massive guy, but his suit detracted from that. I would prefer a slightly chunkier military-esque fabric, but not so heavy that it would make you wonder how he manages to be so agile.
