BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 23

Bare with me here. You know how a couple days ago there were reports of Affleck being uncomfortable in the suit. What if they were talking about this new armored suit, and the standard suit is actually not too bad to wear.

Considering Zod's armor was CGI, I'd be surprised if Batman's isn't also.

There are rules here...follow them...dont like them...leave

shh is a business as well. Would you suggest that a profitable business do things to upset their potential partnerships?

The Outhousers did. And DC blacklisted them. They're still doing fine.

But no, I'm not suggesting that SHH do the same thing. They have a different business model. I understand the realities. I just find it unfortunate, as I'm sure many of SHH's employees and volunteers do also.

Y'know... I'm going to take this opportunity to ask a question that may appear snarky but that I mean sincerely.

I've noticed a lot of the long time members (folks at 20K posts or more) seem to frequently object to people... discussing things within the discussion. Especially if they're noobs. It's like there are perspectives (especially if they're the least bit contrary to the flow of the thread), that they're just sick of hearing. Was SHH once a different place, and now the old guard is annoyed at the upstarts pissing in their pool?

So, is there a clearer pic out there of Ben in front of the batmobile? I'm not actually asking for anyone to post it here, OR to PM me. I'm just wondering if one exists so I can look for myself.

Then be consistent. Your own post #20 on page 1 of this current thread was clearly a response to post #7, a post that included a "bootlegged" pic, which you must have seen. But instead of nipping things at the bud you joined in all co-sizzled and in doing so gave tacit approval to these sorts of posts. A reminder from you then would have served the purpose and it's unfair of you now to say we should have known better.

Are you talking about the photo of the screen at the panel with the WW, Superman and Batman posters on? If so then that is not the same as two of those images are already out, the footage cap is not going to be seen by anyone but those at the con.

Basically it tends to take time to integrate yourself into a forum of posters who have known each other for a few years, so it usually works best if you take time to get settled in rather than coming in guns blazing, especially if the topic is a hot button one so to speak.

There is a hierarchy to everything, the mods are doing as instructed. I'm not sucking up, just being objective. Did hunter make a post asking for the bootleg link? Nope. Did hunter post it on the forum? nope. Therefore, the shh rules that were spoken of were not broken.
It's not a question of whether Hunter broke the rules himself but that he fostered a false sense of security in others... if you see a rule broken then say so at the time you know it to have been broken, otherwise don't be surprised when others fail to realize that there were rules being broken.

I got my first infraction, but life moves on :funny:.

Still no Batman poster I see :csad:.

I am. But this is a distinction you cannot reasonably expect anyone to have made at the time... what you see in post #7 is a screencap from a panel video and it is from similar panel videos, if not the same panel video, from which the costume pics were pulled. The point being: posters at the time were not under the impression that panel video screencaps were problematic.

Posters who have been here for one SDCC experience really should realize the difference between that and caps of bootleg cam footage as that has always been the big nono from these things. On one hand you can argue that to make sure everyone was crystal clear I should have said that the image was fine but if there is any bootleg footage/caps then don't post it, but I honestly didn't think as I just figured posters knew the drill by now, so in that regard I admit I was not thorough.

Ooooh... Well in that case, I'm going to go with physical prop.

My view as well. I would be willing to bet that both suits are built, and real.
Not that there wouldn't be CGI versions for certain scenes, and perhaps a stunt man wearing that armo suit for all but the close ups as well.

Considering Zod's armor was CGI, I'd be surprised if Batman's isn't also.

Prepare to be surprised..:woot:

I wish I had remembered the drill, then at least I could have enjoyed the thrill that comes with the risk of Infraction ;) but quite honestly I never thought for a second that we were in dangerous territory. In this age of social media it's not always clear what is and what's not meant for public knowledge... all I know was the pics started posting and into the breach we went unawares of the dangers ahead. Look, I get SHH's position on the matter and I'll certainly remember the rule if there's a next time. But the infraction smack down was a rather harsh given the rush of the day and something like Kelly's announcement or a sticky post would have seemed a better place to start things. Now at the risk of being perceived as making light of the situation, which is not my intent, I have to say that I regret most the fact that the only time I got busted for posting something here was when I wrote something positive about a frigg'n blue armored batsuit :csad:

That is a hard lesson learned right there... but it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good and if nothing else at least now I have one more reason to dislike a blue or armored batsuit!

Can anyone who was there confirm that the bat emblem on Batman's chest in the picture of the regular Bat-suit is black? I was told by someone who was there that the cape and cowl were black with a gray body suit but I was not told whether the Bat emblem on his chest was black.

Soooo....from all the teaser comic con footage i've seen and the new photos of the fullsize image of the batsuit, I think it's safe to say that the suit is gray and the belt is dark bronze.

Works for me ...

I don't want this to seem like I'm post spamming since I've already posted this in the manips and all things threads, but since I made this manip with the Batsuit in mind, I thought I'd share this here too. So here's my take on the Bat armor from the little footage we saw. :woot:

Click spoiler for the story behind the manip. :whatever::cwink:

So here it is, my magnum opus! :halo: :cwink:

I've spent around 18 hours straight making this. At first I thought I should make an armored Batsuit manip then I realized how awesome it would be if I tried to recreate the teaser footage from yesterday! :D By far the most complicated manip i've ever attempted. I tried to make the batsuit look as close as possible to the footage with what I had. As you will notice - shape of the white eyes, short angled ears, new bat symbol, Batfleck's mouth, thick face armor, short gauntlet spikes, even the cape is from the cape and cowl shown at SDCC etc etc. Oh, and I don't really know or care about Kryptonite being used in BVS, but I just had to change the original orange color to something else.

Well, the body suit wasn't "there".. Just a new full length pic.
I don't think that we can be completely positive as to the exact colors of the traditional suit and emblem just yet? But it does look like a dark grey suit.. And the emblem looks darker than the suit, but lighter than the cape and cowl to my eyes anyhow.

And it will probably be your one and only I have a feeling. You are now in an elite group....I have one as well. :cwink:

And people need to realize that the mods and admin are just as big of fans of these things as the posters, and we sometimes get caught up in the moment and just become good ol' fans and get hyped and though we may not break the rule, in our excitement we may accidentally pass something that we should have taken care of... It happens...it happens sometimes in the political threads when we get into a heated debate and forget oooops we can't get that heated...lol I know this, because I have one infraction myself. Hunter has at least 30 infractions......j/k :oldrazz:

**** yes. So it was an orange light? Hard to tell from the bootleg footage. Interesting if so.

Regarding a conversation earlier about the Bat armor, I look at it like the absolute last line of defense. Batman would, of course, have all sorts of other tricks and treats for Superman. Super sonic pulses of some kind, incredibly bright flash grenades, small explosions/bombs. Batman will make Superman go where he wants him to go.

Now, I'm also willing to bet that at some point Batman will realize that Superman is clearly holding back(since I'm sure Bruce would be well aware of the fight in Metropolis with Zod), as not to kill Batman. So he'll also use that to his advantage.

Then Superman will have had enough, super speed up to Batman, rip something off and that'll most likely be the end of the fight.

I REALLY hope Superman was "sent after" Batman by the government. Not ordered, but gently suggested to. After all, Superman said himself that he "just wants to help." I hope it plays more like New Frontier.

Hell Batman might even reveal some Kryptonite in this scene, which would be awesome.

Then Superman realizes that Batman isn't a threat or a menace to good people through some dialogue perhaps and we get the team-up against, hopefully, Metallo.

I've been here ten years, and I don't think I've gotten any infractions. Any way for me to find out for sure?
