Not sure if youre serious there Lencho... But that's cool from a design standpoint, maybe for an Elseworld's story. But that'd be so sad if the new costume was anything like that

Dunno if you're joking or not, but even that isn't more "realistic" than what's in the current comics. If a guy is willing to go that far, going the extra step and donning a full-on Batman costume with cape doesn't seem like that big of a stretch...

I was joking. :hehe:

If I could have things my way, I'd have him pretty much dressed like this...

I wouldn't be surprised if we got an all black suit for Batman.

Ozymandias' was black. Superman's suit was darker than usual.

I thought Ozy's suit was still purple and gold, just darker.

I'd prefer it to be closer to the TDK/R suit, though perhaps more streamlined for better movement.

Also... I guess I'm a rarity in that I like the all-black suit. Troika's been my favorite comic suit so far (outside of Azrael... I desperately want to see Azbat in a live-action film).

I love the all black batsuits. That's what I grew up with, and it looks great.

But... I think it's time for the traditional gray and black to make it's cinematic debut. And if anybody will do it, it'll be Snyder.

...ahem...

NOBODY IS ASKING FOR BLACK RUBBER ARMOR.

ps Ahahaha, that tactical, "realistic" Batman totally is wearing the Adam West cowl. I'd love to see some real art in that style, but I couldn't possibly see that being a legitimate direction for the character.

any bulky clumsy armor creates the same problem though. That being said , I think with Snyder we will see a more nimble Batman and I'm really ready.

I always think that Adam West's costume would have looked so much better if only the symbol had been raised to cover the chest rather than the solar plexus.

After seeing some of the special features for MOS, I think it's somewhat guaranteed that Batman's cape will be CGI'd a lot at times.

If they want Batman to be able to do some badass acrobatic stunts, or parkour all over the place, it's probably best to CGI the cape.

One can dream....

Agreed.

After seeing those pics of Cavill and Shannon fighting, I assume that's what they'll do.

so a fighting armor is slowing him down?
+ in a movie he can do even more like jumping and high kicks...and even more because he is batman;-)

he should be able to come up with something lightweight yet protective.
so how was the dark knight suit not designed effectively? they also managed it to look cool (yet very busy and not so streamlined)

If the ninja turtle stuntmen could do full on back tucks in their suits I really find all arguments about mobility highlighting design issues on the bat team front.

I'm hoping we'll be seeing different purpose armors like IM, great for toy sales.

I think that may have had more to do with Adam West's chest being located where most people have a solar plexus.

The Arkham Asylum/City costume... that's what we need...

Buuuuuuuut, since we'll never get a cloth costume, I'd like to see cloth mixed with armor.

Nothing too rubbery!

Agreed, and it would have looked better if Adam west was built like that as well.

I had an idea for the costume earlier. Weighted tips on the scalloped points in the cape. They would make the cape naturally fall in an unexpected way that I think would come off as otherworldly, and tips could also be useful for offensive blows or to distract or confuse enemies.

This would mean no cape blowing in the wind, but depending on the cut of it, it could make the cape drape in a very distinct, stylized way. I believe the cape is sometimes said to be weighted in the comics, but that clashes with every scene we see of it blowing majestically in the wind. Either way, giving Batman a draped cloak that always hangs down would be a nice contrast to Superman who has a cape that's always flapping around in the wind as he flies. To go even deeper, it could symbolize weight and grounded-ness for the character overall: Superman is free to do anything and his cape flies free as he does, while Batman is Earth-bound and held down by his mortal limitations.

The cape will more than likely be CG

It'll probably be a combination of both just like Superman's in MOS.

I just got Arkham Origins. The concept of the suit in this game is great imo.
