Nope.

The clasps or the slinky neck look pretty awful; the cape and cowl being one, like Batman wears, looks just fine.

I'm really liking this sculpt;

I'm really starting to prefer shorter ears. Especially since they've gone ahead and cast someone tall, if not taller than Cavill as Batman. Plus it seems to be more along the lines of the new 52 approach. Overly long ears just look ridiculous, Akrham games are a good example are just too long.

I'd like short ears. Not only has that always been my preference, but it's just yet another thing they have yet to do in a big-budget film, unless you want to count Batman the Movie.

Of course, I'm much more concerned with them finally, after twenty-something years, getting rid of the all-back rubber look.

For the love of god they need to get rid of the all black rubber

The best way to distance themselves from the Nolan movies is to make him look as different from Nolan's Batman as possible. The best way to do that is to embrace the fantastical elements of Batman. If I was to do it I would go with a fabric bat suit. I would go with a suit that resembles the MOS suit but not exactly like it. I would make the suit closely resemble the bat suit that is in the current comics…all grey suit, no trunks, black bat, black cowl, gloves and boots. I would go with the wrap around cape and probably go CGI in some scenes…just like in MOS.

What i loved about the Burton films was the of the fantastical elements of Batman (joker, penguin, catwoman). Plus the "gothic" theme worked perfectly. There's a point where realism needs to be put aside and let the true essence of the comicbooks come to fruition.

Too bad that this isn;t the true ssence of the comicbooks.

Do you guys think a leather batman costume would work

Thank you. Gotham City was basically portrayed as a real city. It didn't become 'gothic' until Burton. Even after, it was far from consistent.

In the comics Gotham was whatever the writer/artist wanted it to be. Tim Burton is not the first person to portray Gotham as a gothic city.

i heard it was going to look like lee bermejo's batsuit

which is cool cuz this is my favorite suit anyways. i hope they stick with the gray and black design though

I always liked a little gothic element to Batman/Gotham. Not too overboard or consuming like Burtons films, but with a creepy old city like Gotham, which inhabits things like Arkham Asylum, the Joker, Two-Face, a crocodile man, a Scarecrow, and a lonely man who dresses up as a Bat...I think the Gothic style suits Gotham. BTAS and the Arkham games certainly don't shy away from it, and they're probably the most accurate depictions of Batman, IMO.

Let's get the obligatory "Fabric ripped open to reveal the armor underneath" shot of the suit and everybody will be fine.

^ I think we will get that at some point but damn, am i the only one who doesn't give a damn about these little nostalgia moments ? It's been done, i watch Superman and Superman 2 and i get these moments from MoS i got something fresh and i prefere that.

The Bermejo suit just looks a little too rustic for my tastes. I appreciate what it's going for, but I don't really think it would work too well in live-action. As for the previous discussion, I would like to see the cape attached to the cowl, but maybe not hiding where it joins, since they'll be made of different materials anyway.

If you make the suit to be made of real world bulletproof fabrics, you won' t need or get that scene. The fabric would BE the armor.

Would the fabrics that I've seen you post a few times protect against concussive damage? I'm not implying bulky padding is necessary, or that they need to ground it as much as possible, by the way.

Sort of agree with that. Through scientific wizardry, thin fabrics can stop light ballistics. All the same, I doubt those fabrics do much to stop knives, lead pipes etc.

The answer, in my opinion, is that Batman can deal with any number of close quarter assailants, without recourse to armour.

For the Noel suit vs Arkham Origins discussion, here's how the Noel suit looks IN Arkham Origins.

I still think the arkham origins suit could make a great movie suit toned town
