BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 6

Same. I've always hated how full of himself he is when he says, "I'm Batman!". It should be more like, "I'm Batman????".:o

"Am I Batman?" For that time Bruce was taking that online philosophy course. :word:

I do very much look forward to the new suit coming out and people finally coming around to what we "haters" have been saying for years.

The TDK suit is pure trash.

The way I see it, the TDK/TDKR suit has its flaws, and I think some improvements need to be made before I'll get a costume that fits my ideal movie Batsuit. But it's still the closest to right the films have got, as far as I'm concerned. Not a fan of the immobile rubber sculptures.

Maybe because it looks ****ing amazing.

probably has something to do with the fact that this will be the first time the traditional grey suit is used in a movie that Adam West isn't in.

These responses don't address my point at all.

Yes, the way that Jim Lee draws the Batsuit makes it look nice. But he is just drawing the default Batsuit (Hush) or the crappy new one ("New" 52). There is no "Jim Lee Batsuit". The only arguably distinctive features his renditions bring are tiny little wasp-sting ears and unusually squared-off fins on the gauntlets. But both of those things are seen elsewhere, too.

The blue haters in this thread make me a sad panda :csad:.

Forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Every time I think of a blue Batman, this is the color scheme I want.

Well the New 52 suit is designed by Jim Lee, so I guess that would count as a "Jim Lee Batman suit". Lee designed all of those new costumes , Superman, WW,GL etc.

I am all for a different Bat-suit, I hope they do n't make it look "busy" like it often looks like in the comics these days.

That Howard Porter/JLA version posted by Nathan is cool, even i prefer the Bat-emblem without the yellow oval.

Wait so this Reeve FX guy is legit? And he's confirming short ears, and very Frank Miller TDKReturns inspired color scheme?

Interesting if true. Affleck is much taller and leaner (more like Neal Adams' Bats) than Frank Miller's stocky Bats. So not sure what the short ears and so will look like on Affleck. I guess like Jim Lee's Hush/ASB&R look, which I guess is what Kevin Smith was reminded of.

Reevz FX did the BatintheSun costumes. :wow: This is gonna be great (the suit, I mean).

Ironically, it seems like Zack is going out of his way to please the fans, enlisting animation storyboarders and indie costume designers that have experience in the genre. If only he did the same in the writing category for the sequel

Wait, wait. Somebody fill me in point-for-point on this Reeve FX thing and how they're connected to BvS, please. I don't know what's going on.

Nope, it doesn't alternate. He wears the blue Neil Adams suit in the fist part and later changes the costume. After that, there is no more blue grey. I read it just a week ago.

And about Conroy... I hate that guy. People only love him because BTAS is fondly remembered. His Batman sounds too full of himself. Never liked him. I was so glad when they used Greenwood in Red Hood, or Smith in Arkham Origins.

While one could argue that Greenwood has an underlying vulnerability, I think Batman tends to be disturbingly self-assured. He acts that way, at least ;)

So yeah, I'm a part of the Conroy bandwagon, though ironically my version of Batman sounds more like Michael Dobson :word:

On twitter, Reevz kind of leaked that he's doing the Batman costume.

He was always good; but again, I think he's overrated. I think I prefer Bruce Greeenwood.

I like him. I generally like all the voice actors since I feel they match whichever version they're working with. But, sometimes with Conroy I felt it was stunt casting.

Don't forget he likes to draw plenty of lines.

>heavily based on Frank Miller TDKR suit
>inspired by Jim Lee
>not matric black armor
>TDKR suit is blue-grey
>Jim Lee's Hush Batman design is blue-grey

No one has outright said it but I think we have enough to go on that it doesn't need to be said outright.

Actually, the Dark Knight Returns suit was both blue-gray AND black-gray. It's blue-gray with the yellow oval in the first chapter, then black-gray with the plain black bat insignia in the second chapter.

And also, while Jim Lee's Hush Batman had a blue/gray design, his Batman design for the New 52 is black/gray. I have a slight preference for black/gray, but wouldn't necessarily object to blue/gray. But right now, even if you read Smith's comments as speculation on a gray fabric suit, it could go either way as far as a blue or black trim.

I honestly give the suit 0% chance of being blue. Heck Superman's suit didn't even look blue in some shots in MOS.

We really don't. The suit can easily take inspiration from all of those and have a black/gray color scheme.

Indeed. I think a lot of folks here are confusing "inspired by" with "copied from". It ain't the same thing. For example: here's a Kotobukiya statue I have that is inspired by Jim Lee's blue/grey suit:

Do you see any blue there?

That muscularity. Is Batman on dat dere cell tech?

Part of me really hopes that they used a similar silicone based under padding and muscle indentation that the MOS suit had for the Batman suit. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Can't say I love the notion of short stubby ears, but it's not a deal-breaker.

It's just when I think of short, stubby ears I instantly think of The Batman:

As much as I don't like super long capes, I actually liked what they did with it in The Batman.

That's why I want to know what picture Reeves FX responded to and said the color scheme was right.

Now I've got this horrible, miniscule bit of doubt in the back of my head saying "It's not going to be as awesome as you think, it's going to look cosplay-ish."

Go away, doubt. Your kind is not welcome here.

Don't worry, these guys know what they're doing. Does the Man of Steel Superman suit look cosplay-ish? Does the Spider-Man costume in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 look cosplay-ish?
