Don't quite follow that. They're both essentially superheroes, so it would be rather inauthentic to forcibly eliminate every similarity between them.

i agree with is…what are they gonna do when Wonder Woman comes on the scene with similar colors…or The Flash with all that red next to Superman

or knowing that Jim Lee designed the new Bat suit for the new 52…so i think the suit may resemble the new 52 suit…but would that suit harken back to Kevin Smith's childhood?

I've personally never been a fan of Jim Lee re-designs. They tend to work when he draws them but when other people(not named capullo) take on the characters after it just falls apart for me. That leather jacked wonder woman, that overly designed flash, huntress...It's a different story when John Cassidy does this(see xmen).

I'd personally rather they avoid the in's and outs of this new 52 bats but then again, it couldn't be more busy than TDK bats.

I'm pretty sure smith saw a two colour scheme costume with a yellow belt. No chance of white eyes though.

I also think they are going to try and attempt to keep the materials consistent in this universe(kinda like 52). Maybe no chain mail but something.

I'm not saying to eliminate anything!
Just to play with what the characters already have.

The difference being that this movie is speculated to be pitting them against each other.
Multiple people on a team wearing the same colors would be the opposite of a problem.
.....Because they're on a team.

i believe it's inspired but the new 52 suit and not the new 52 suit.

My guess is that the suit's going to somewhat be on the lines of a possible amalgamation of:

Batman: Noel(to be consistent with previous rumors, especially the cowl)

The Dark Knight Returns(the logo?)

Jim Lee's Batman(consistent with the new information)

Thoughts?

That's what I have been thinking about too. It'll be more like these three in one.

Never mind, read it wrong.

Don't quite see what is considered distinctive about the suit Jim Lee draws. Apart from diminutive ears, it is the standard vanilla Batsuit. It just has Hulk sized muscles and chizeled features because that's the way he draws all characters.

Maybe because it looks ****ing amazing.

Smith's comments are pretty encouraging.

So, Zack Snyder has the picture of the bat suit that he showed Kevin on his phone that's not safe?

probably has something to do with the fact that this will be the first time the traditional grey suit is used in a movie that Adam West isn't in.

That has not been confirmed yet. From Kev's comments the suit is different but we don't have full specifics yet.

Because we're finally seeing Batman wear grey for the first time on screen and Smith probably grew up with the grey suit?

Alterations are bound to happen this early into pre-production too. Who knows what the final product will appear like until filming starts. That said, the inspiration/influence will probably remain.

we are not early in preproduction…we have less than 3 months to shoot. If Snyder had pictures of Affleck in the suit…it's the final product.

Eh, Nolan had modifications to not only his Batman but the villains too. Three months is still a long time.

I'm going to Zack Snyder's house and try to get photos of the Batfleck suit. Anyone want to help me?

The hug and surprise probably came from the grey. Even if it's more rubber, the two tones is a very different look. In that sense Owlman from watchmen reads more traditional batman than tdk in ways such as from a distance.

three months is not a long time when you need to make several Bat suits, several Superman suits (if they change any part of the design), and several villain suits depending on how many there are.
They need stunt suits, rig suits, hero suits, damaged suits
(if applicable).
I don't know how many suits they made for MOS but Spider-man 3 had 40 something suits.

Snyder was able to adapt the Watchmen costumes brilliantly without making them look daft.

He even had the balls to let Dr. Manhattan go full frontal.

I really hope that in Snyder's DC universe, Batman is allowed to wear grey, Wonder Woman is allowed to go pantsless and sidekicks are allowed to exist.

Pun intended?
