Was it really?? ... geesh, it's been a while since I've seen it but on that, to say it is unnecessary to the story/character may be true to some extent but let me argue how it is important - this Batman has already been described as "seasoned". Having his first Mk.I suit mixed in with some others would be a nice subtle bone to the fans similar to the way the Iron Man suits were used in IM3 to show how far Tony has come in being Iron Man. PLUS seeing the Adam West blue and grey or Christians' DK suit (at least Zach's version of those suits if not the real things) would be the greatest show of respect/honor to all those who have brought us a different version of the character that overall led us to where we are now... That being a 'Worlds Finest' and soon Justice League movie; something only fanboys could dream of until now. Along with all that, when Bats & Supes throw down, whichever suit Bruce has been using to date will not hold up against Kal El's pinkey! When he up and changes or modifies his suit, I think it's more believable when we already got a glimpse of the modifications he has done from what he first started out with fighting street thugs to fighting a super human alien. Just my two cents. Thoughts?

Don't get me wrong, it would be extremely cool to throw a little nod to the fanboys concerning the characters previous incarnations, I'm just not sure that it would work in this particular movie.

Who knows, maybe we will see some modifications and what-not, but I think it would be wise, in introducing this brand new Batman character, to establish him in one, iconic suit.

I'm not a huge fan of the Batman that keeps trophies (the dinosaur, giant penny, etc...). Batman, to me, is a pragmatic, practical character. His suit should be function over form. It serves two purposes 1. To protect Bruce 2. To intimidate his enemies.

And yes, BF and B&R are worth forgetting. The suit changes in those movies were completely extraneous and an obvious attempt at selling more toys.

Yeah sure it might look like a nappy. So what? Do you really think the general moviegoer will start loughing seeing that in a film? It will be barely get noticed. It's just a fictional movie where respect for the classic iconography should be the main goal.

If you think it will "barely get noticed", then what's the point of advocating it?

The trunks can be done for fan service while having a practical purpose in the film as a harness utility for holding his belt in place. I threw together a quick manip. While this is not a professional result, it illustrates the point. To me the new 52 trunkless costumes just look like long pijamas that need something to break the monotone color. Even the MOS trunkless design that so many are praising didn't work for me.

In the end, there is so much talk about an element which will be covered in shadows most of the time and we will only get a glimpse of it.

That shouldn't be a problem in live-action. Give him a black belt as opposed to the yellow one and it achieves the same effect the trunks would in comics/animation.

@Alex-Spider
I agree that Superman and many of the NEw 52 is like pijama (except from Batman) but I think the need for trunks is pointless in big screen... The MOS hasn't and is by far one of the best and realistic superhero outfit unlike TASM1 pijama and Cap America's Avengers that those yeah that looked unrealistic and more the pijama look
You see TASM2 suit and this suit is awesome!!!

I toned down the cod piece, made the grey darker and changed the belt:

For you undie-wear guys, I can manip the lower area as well.

Wouldn't want the spandex look for a big budget movie, but awesome manip

How can we make that suit/manip go away now?

If the actual suit was that with a more expensive, textured material for the grey I'd be sold. The gloves, cowl and boots are all great.

They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again

ok now this is like a dog sniffing on others dog p*op..stop it please

You can add or take away anything you want, that suit still looks horrible. Please make it go away.

It's been more or less confirmed that the cowl will have short ears

No, it absolutely has not. Nothing whatsoever has been confirmed about the suit other than the fact that Ben Affleck (and various stunt people) will be wearing it.

Why the harness, aside from providing that visual break up that trunks do? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, tis an honest question. Maybe it hooks to a gadget or something that he uses?

Haha sorry, I just laughed out loud when I read this. I thought belts were meant to hold things up, not the other way around??

Here's a manip I put together. It's along the lines of the type of suit I'd like to see in the new film.

Just wanted to repost this. Any thoughts on the overall style? No Bat-trunks or visible rappel harness though...

Looks good to me. With some polish, higher quality materials, and that good ol hollywood shine, it would look pretty damn good, IMO. I like the changes you made.
