A blend of the Batman: Incorporated with the Arkhamverse suit would be perfect.
too much yellow needs more black, with the black bat there is a balance made so no trunks for my tastesQuestion to those who want the trunks: In your opinion, would the color break you're looking for still be necessary if they use the yellow oval and yellow belt as opposed to the yellow belt and the black bat?
I'd love to see some use of smoke pellets. I always liked how it was done in The Batman.
Smoke pellets are a must.

Personally, I hope that we're spared any unnecessary compromises stemming from these kinds of considerations, for a while. The Arkhamverse suit seems like it would be the most realistic for a Bruce Wayne who has to carry tons of equipment out into the field with him.
Color break is the whole reason to have the trunks at least that's what all the pro-trunks people on the MOS boards were saying.
AgreedNot me. As I said, the suit just looks odd to me without them, probably because I'm simply used to them. Which in my mind, is as legitimate a reason to keep them as "the trunks are outdated" is to lose them.
I don't mind them in the comics or in animation, but they are too outdated in live-action IMO.

I think if we start analyzing what is actually outdated and functional on superhero suits very little would remain.
You mean outdated in the movies since 1989, as opposed to them being around in the comics for over seventy years? Since when did the movies become more important than the source material?
Look, in the comics, sure it's just part of the convention. But in good storytelling, especially movies, there does need to be a reason for everything - in the case of the trunks it either needs to serve a purpose functionally or be important to bats characterization. I still haven't heard a good argument towards either of those. The argument against it is clear - it makes no sense why they're there. Not me. That just isn't true.Look, in the comics, sure it's just part of the convention. I don't think they're necessary in live-action. They provide a color break in the suit in the comics, but they're not necessary here because live-action wouldn't have that problem IMO. I never had a problem with Superman's lack of trunks in MOS either. I thought it looked fine.
Plus, I'm still not ok with Superman not having them but Batman having them. That is a huge factor for me. That factor alone makes the idea feel really awkward to me. By the time JL rolls around, Batman and Wonder Woman would be the only ones with their briefs on the outside.
And considering the briefs are the only thing Wonder Woman wears at all down there, the briefs on Batman would look out of place indeed.
