I would love lenses directly on the eyes, but I think you can't get around black eye paint. I didn't really love the cowl lenses in TDK. They need to emote to work IMO. Haha, maybe they'll go nuts and enhance they eye section with CGI. So that it really looks like the comics.

Having an expressive cowl through prosthetics would probably make contacts/lenses easier to pull off. From what they've done with films in the pass decade (Hellboy and others), doing a cowl would be easy. It just means he'll have to spend more time in the makeup chair.

Of course if they wanted to go completely nuts, other than cgi there's always this:

Pretty sure snyder will land on similar approaches as he did in watchmen.
Sadly that means no white eyes(contacts or otherwise). Unless that is also what smith was hinting at.

If snyder has the balls to do the white eyes(like in some of the fanfilms), he will indeed have won imo.

That's actually the first time where I would agree that the "underpants look" actually works. He would need that area to be flexible for mobility while the rest is armored. Wasn't the "harness look" used on some artwork as well? I'm thinking with the "ultimate batman" years ago.

I do agree that a trunks area would work in this type of suit for design purposes, since the armored areas would reduce the flexibility of the joints.

I like this image, but I just want to see a new suit that doesn't have armored areas like this. It's too bulky and would reduce mobility in a live action film.

That's what I was thinking too - with Kevin saying [paraphrase]"(to Snyder) only you would have the balls to pull this off" that may mean the white eyes...hmm...

It probably would have even fit the comics better than Nolan's version, since Nolan's version was meant to be a very realistic take. As I said before, the TDK(R) suit is not realistic by any means and the irony is that the comic suit is the most realistic suit by far. Blends in the shadows better, gives off the theatrical vibe from Batman better, still offers him basic protection from bullets/knives without weighting/slowing him down, etc.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the realism element.

But that wasn't what I was referring to when I said the TDK(R) suit fit in with Nolan's version. I was actually talking about the aesthetics of it; the matte gray SWAT type of deal. Although it may not have been as realistic as the comic suit, I feel that it fit in with the rest of Nolan's world (Most of the villains not wearing outlandish costumes, Gotham looking like a normal city and not gothic, etc.) For some reason, I can't imagine the classic suit in Nolan's world...

Perhaps I am wrong and its just one of those things where you can't see it until its actually in front of you.

If Nite Owl's suit was a prototype to what a Zack Snyder Batman suit would look like, I cannot wait! It's going to looks so badass.

If Snyder does some proper white eyes that'll go a long way to making me a believer. Really, the more I think about Kevin Smiths talk the more I believe we're getting some good looking white eyes.

Again, he's part of a group that represented a bygone era per the story line of Watchmen. Modern superheroes don't really need to have trunks, but I trust in Snyder.

If Superman's cape in MOS was digital in half the scenes and looked awesome, I don't see a problem with digital white eyes. But even if we don't get white eyes, I won't complain.

Again, if it's more like Jim Lee's or just more traditional to the comics in general we could very well see that.

Or the pose on the gargoyle that Jim Lee gave us. I know Nolan tried to do this, but the cape wasn't flowing enough.

The classic drawn back cowl look would be great! Very flexible and useful - reminiscent of the comics for sure.

Seeing as Snyder is a huge Jim Lee fan, he's definitely going to give us those money shots. The cape porn in this film is going to be insane.
