BvS The Batsuit Thread - Part 8

It doesn't look all that different from the Origins suit, if I'm being honest.

It does sure look like it's using parts from the Origins suit. The gloves especially. I've never advocated for the Arkham suit being used on screen. The bulkiness is weird. But that yellow symbol and just... everything about it... gross.

I don't feel one way or the other about either of them. I think people tend to exaggerate how great the Origins suit is, though.

That action figure looks absolutely nothing like what Kevin Smith indicated he saw. Jim Lee-esque, something the hardest of hard-core fans would love? Not that.

Okay, I'm going to try to give this thread a rest for a while after posting a few more images. I feel like I've jumped in on it way too hard - sorry for clogging so many pages!

I'll do this in a few posts to fit the images in and respond to an earlier comment, and then I promise, no more cramming this thread full of pictures (although come on, that's what so many of us are checking for!)

First off are examples of mission-based suit variants. These are based on Bale's suit so are antiquated for our purposes, but they are a cool example of mission-based variants, if Batman's ethos doesn't call for just one suit always.

If you're doing "armor," this suit is pretty cool, as it's supposed to be for desert camo and protection against explosions. I actually think the lines on this are cleaner than on the TDKR suit.

Another heavy armor approach to the Bale suit.

If a T-600, Bale's batman, and the Goddamn Batman were thrown together, it might look something like that. ie. Horrible for any film ever... cool to look at for 30 seconds or less on a batsuit thread ;)

Getting away from the variant idea, into total redesign.

A sweet sci-fi take that manages to be less outlandish than the above or the Japanese armor posted several pages back. Does this have any place in the DC film universe? A-hyellll no.

Total re-design that I actually really like, even if just for aesthetic purposes. Lots of other noodles in the background.

DC.jpg

The famous Wizard redesign, which I really really like, and would like even more with the glowing white lenses.

This is another total redesign which has a number of practical additions. Cape's attached to arms for gliding and blocking bullets. Grappling hooks and batarangs are more accessible on legs. Symbol with luminosity control from completely black to blindingly bright. Boots made better for climbing.

Radical redesign with explanations built into the image. I don't like it for the film, or for the comics, but I like it as a design. It's like an extreme version of the "leaked" 'Fleck outfit.

A trio of redesigns, none of which I find particularly appealing, but are interesting for consideration as part of a "real world" Batman.

<--- the creator actually made this from real life, pre-fab parts that a non-billionare can order.
dark_tactical_knight_by_darknight7-d47m5j8.jpg
<--- Fugly military-gear based Batman.
batman_and_robin_upgrade_by_darknight7-d4m6eur.jpg
<--- Bats/Robin if they actually resembled the creatures they are inspired by... you know... because a Bat isn't Blue/Grey... most of them are brown, with lighter bellies. Something about this is actually kinda neat. Emphasis on the kinda.

And finally... with this, I will retreat back into the shadows of lurkerdom... my favorite image of Batman. It was posted on an earlier part of this thread, and I think it has everything I like about just about every iteration of the suit, in one incredibly elegant design.

And I'm ouuuutttaaa heeeeyahh... thanks to the SHH community for the most addictive thread on the internet. Catch you all after the holidays... hopefully WB/Snyder/whoever will give us a Christmas present and end the speculation ;)

Hafiz - I'm talking about this leaked artwork. I don't think it's legit... I'm praying it's not.

ugh... I put quotes around "leaked" many times on the previous page. It's just the most famous picture that was "supposed" to be authentic/ie. gained some actual traction, and so I refer to it as the "leaked" picture for ease of reference...

My most sincerely humble apologies, sir.

If you do have a direct link to an official source that officially discredits this mock-up, ie. the artist himself, or the studio, disavowing it, I would unsarcastically be interested in checking that link out. While I never bought it as authentic, I've never seen it officially discredited.

I think we're all clear that *zero* visual content from the upcoming sequel has been leaked in any viewable format that is accessible to us peons.

...Now I will 'carry on.'

Always been against the cloth suit idea until I thought of this today

Amazing Spiderman or MOS costume material(easy on the texture and design though) bodysuit.
Arkham Origins gauntlets and knee high boot/ shin guards
DC_Collectibles_Batman_Arkham_Origins.jpg

TDK helmet style of Jim Lee design cowl.
And instead of a few muscle pads under the suit, design the pads in an armor shape

I think that would actually satisfy both groups. That way you get the impression of armor but it isn't some over designed rubber bodysuit or the opposite cheap cosplay Batman.

No, it wouldn't, that looks horrible.

That Stay Puft suit is a laughably bad design even on its own dubious merits.

Yea, but regwec you know good and well that action figure that's been posted countless times is an over exaggerated version of the suit.

Yes, it makes its many flaws more easily identified.

Wasnt talking about the suit at all only the boots and gauntlets.specifically the gauntlets could be any of the armored type including New 52 style .

basically just those slapped on a cloth(SM1-3) or MOS material bodysuit with a cowl made like the TDK helmet.
only time the new 52 design works, when the boots are black to the knees you can drop the underwear and the grey doesn't overpower.

Yes an objective truth right here.... Despite it being many peoples favorite suit design. :oldrazz:

it's one of my favorite designs, he's rarely looked as badass as he does in the game and in the promotional material for the game IMO. I also don't get the puffy criticism since it's clearly the exaggerated proportions doing that not the suit itself. Earlier in the thread there's mention of people confusing art style for design and this is another good example. Although I do get why people who don't like the armored look wouldn't necessarily like this design.

checking this thread every day is slowly draining the life out of me. we need an official picture of the suit soon

Bring the yellow bat back this time.
