I was hoping they’d be able to find some unknown unicorn who was a big, kind hearted looking behemoth of a man who could also act….. but I will accept Corenswet or the Brit.

I think Hoult could make a compelling villain from supes’ rogues gallery, but he just isn’t what I pictured as the Man of Steel. Great actor, but I just don’t see how he can physically pull it off

Interesting that THR was correct a few weeks ago with the story of which actors were in contention, they obviously have a good source. Richardson seems have been eliminated, and as for the other two unknowns, they must have been as well. Do wonder if Fode was one or whether is was all a publicity stunt. A stunt that may get him jobs in the future, as having supposedly been a finalist for "Superman."

Still which Spencer House and Leo Suter were in consideration, but over all we may have dodged a few bullets as to some who could have been cast.

Must say though, Hoult does have an everyman quality, even being an upper crust Brit

I seriously need Phobia Divinyls to go away. I don’t care WHAT the role is. If you have her and Rachel Brosnahan competing for it, you cast Rachel 10 out of 10 times.

Strange that Kroll and Borys Kit are still at odds on the Hoult thing. As two of the most reliable trade reporters in the biz, you'd expect their reports to converge as we get closer to an official announcement. Man up and settle the discrepancy already!

Whatever the case, I'm still rooting for Corenswet and Brosnahan. They check all the right boxes in spades! Hoult, on the other hand, doesn't feel right for Superman at all. Even with Lex, I think we can do better. That's just my honest opinion. Similarly, none of the other actresses testing for Lois can hold a candle to Brosnahan. On her worst day, she runs circles around them.

I'm also kinda tired of real estate type lex or Musk/Jobs type lex. I want a charming Lex. The human equivalent of Supes. Gosling and McConaughey would be my choices.

Checked on three actors IG pages for fun. Corenswet keeps extremely tight control of his, and no surprises, there is nothing, and that is not unusual. Brittney's has nothing as well, even in the tagged column, which I was surprised about. Hoult has nothing on his but in the tagged section, there is more than a few references to the news. Funniest thing about it is that it is his IG, but people seem to be choosing Corenswet for Superman. That made me laugh.

Maybe it's a Cillian Murphy Scarecrow situation where Gunn likes him enough he'll screentest him for Superman even though they both know it's not happening and he's gonna cast him as Lex instead.
