Getting a big kick out of the first IG comment I saw being “So you’re either hinting THIS will happen in the film or THAT will” and Gunn’s like “LOL I’m literally just sharing a pic I took on the beach.”

Brainiac as the villain! Daddy Gunn treats us right.

this alone is enough to build hype. I’m so glad we’re not just doing luthor and Zod again
Yeah, you'd think that Brainiac as the main villain would be a no-brainer (no pun intended, I swear). Yet, here we are in 2023, and the character is only now getting a live-action treatment.

I'm hoping for the full on green skinned, 3 dots on the forehead having, arrogant, thinking he is the smartest sob in the universe, version of Brainiac.
He also needs his army of drones.

Tom Welling seems like a nice supporting character but doesn't particularly feel like Clark or Supes to me.
Being honest Welling was probably the weakest link in Smallville. That said I still think the first three seasons were very good.

Yeah, I enjoyed the show a lot at the time, maybe the first half of the whole show.

I have very fond memories of Smallville (flaws and all), but I think that was a concept that had a shorter shelf life than the show was allowed.

“No tights, no flights” makes perfect sense for a post-Crisis “Clark Kent in high school” show. But once Clark was in Metropolis almost all the time, working alongside Lois at the Planet, and talking on a superhero alter-ego…? Mf’er, why aren’t you flying yet??

And the less that’s said about how much the Lana romance dragged on (even AFTER Lois was already in the picture!), the better.

As for Welling… yeah, he wasn’t the best, but I don’t think he was the worst either. I’m willing to give a slight benefit of the doubt that, when you take into consideration the point in the character’s life he was portraying, he wasn’t hired to be Christopher Reeve. He was hired to be Jeff East. And I think he did that well enough.

Like alot of long running series, I found the first two seasons were the best , though I really dug Erica Durance as Lois, and Aaron Ashmore as the two Jimmy Olsen's :whoops:.

Michael Rosenbaum is still my personal favorite, live action, Lex Luthor.

So , I still have fond memories of Smallville overall, but there were a couple seasons there that I just checked out of it , back in the day.

Yeah it’s a shame it went on as long as it did. But that’s how it is sometimes
