Getting a very hard Donner vibe from this, and that's NOT necessarily a bad thing as long as the cheese is cut out, namely with lex and Otis.

So do you think it's safe to say Lex is the main villain and we aren't getting a late reveal of brainiac or someone else?

I'm so happy if that's the case... I just assumed they wouldn't. I assumed they'd think Lex was too overused and people don't like him. I assumed they'd want some 'high level' super threat.

Having Lex being the core villain in Legacy is actually a really good sign to me. But then, I LOVE Lex as an antithesis to Clark, and any movie that understands and allows focus on that will probably win me over :D

If they're going to constantly borrow Luthor's henchmen from other media, I'd rather they had brought back Asabi, the turban wearing mute from Lois and Clark.

He wasn't a mute. He definitely spoke

I'd happily take Lex as a main villain, there's still lots that can be done with the character, and if Lex is gonna be a pillar of this new universe makes sense to give him a similar opening showcase to Superman

Well maybe so, it's admittedly been a while since I last watched the show. My main memory of Asabi is him just standing in the background, looking all cool and vaguely sinister.
 He definitely did that well. Him and Nigel were great Lex henchman.

I'm not a fan of Otis or Tessmacher but i'm assuming they are going to very different from previous versions so trying to just take their place in the film as confirmation Lex's place in the film is a big one.

I think Lex and clark/Supes will have history.

Clark in trying to take Lex down through the DP, and Superman having to deal with the villains sent at him by Lex, ie, intergang, parasite? Metallo?
We will probably see the ultimate plan by Lex to take Superman down in this.

Perhaps Lex, knowing other life is out there, and he figures others are bound to hate kryptonians also, calls for help, announcing to the galaxy that a kryptonian is on earth, and either Lobo, Brainiac, or perhaps even Darkseid or mongul answer.

I think that's the great thing about Lex as a central focus point for villainy, he can be linked to pretty much any other villain and it'll feel completely natural.

Also saw this earlier... no idea how valid.

It just occurred to me that Milly Alcock isn't at the table read, so perhaps she is not in the film and her casting was more about gearing up the Supergirl film.

Nevertheless, it's exciting knowing that a SUPERMAN film is about to be shot.

She could still be in it. The table read/this pic isn't everyone who is in the film. I think it's safe to say it's likely all of the 'core' cast, but not ruling out more to come I.e. Perry, Lombard, Cat Grant etc

I'm pretty pleased with the casting on this film thus far. Fairly strong cast. If nothing else, they all look their respective parts.

Right now, we are just throwing darts in the dark, but that's pretty much half the fun.

Do you remember when people were literally zooming in on the dark shadow around Cavill's crotch in that first official image, searching for any sign of red pixels?

Yeah, this is nothing yet 😅

I don’t think it’s safe to say at all at this stage. Brainiac is still a very high possibility imo. We didn’t know who the villain in GotG3 was until very late in the game, and we know for sure there are major castings that have either not been finalized or just not been announced here yet.

I'm sure it's possible, but wouldn't it be weird to do a table read without the main villain?

Not if he’s barely in the movie. As I’ve said for months, I feel like Brainiac may be the “surprise” 3rd-Act-Reveal villain here who was pulling strings in the background. Like Nolan liked to do in his Bat movies and like Morrison basically did with Brainiac in their New 52 AC run. They almost certainly had Stroma and Holland there reading for the parts they didn’t have the actors there for yet. And Brainiac wouldn’t be a character who interacts with the other characters outside of Superman, so they wouldn’t really need his actor at any table reads honestly.

Yeah I see your point. And I mean, that's what I always assumed we'd be getting.

I just... would be so happily surprised if they found a way to not be that predictable.
