I mean, considering the times we’re living in, with fascism and prejudice against “illegal” immigrants in this country being at an all-time high, is it really that surprising?

And, knowing James Gunn’s very political stances on certain issues and the kind of social commentary he’s put into his works, he’s not above poking the bear where the conservatives and alt-right types are concerned.

If I had to guess, it’s some sort of Ultraman/Doomsday/Bizarro composite character, maybe government funded and created by Lex Luthor to go up against Superman, or something like that.
Superman gets arrested, because Superman is willing to be arrested. Batman's an extremist. Getting arrested is very different for him.

I would have been fine with a grounded Clark who dresses normal and is a nice, agreeable metrosexual man who just happens to be a little low-key. What you see in S&L. What you saw in Snyder's films, but better written.

But I guess I'm also fine with the mega-nerd Clark that stumbles his way through the crowd, gets trampled by everyone at the paper and becomes an easy butt of Steve Lombard's jokes. I think there's genuine fun in that dynamic, the kind that will make Clark Kent endearing to audiences, the kind that evokes the strong contrast between meek Clark and Superman from Action #1, and the kind that makes the performance a bigger acting accomplishment for Corenswet. I'm fine with all of that. It's still very Superman and it doesn't feel off.

Probably. I still think it's some variation of StormWatch.
We're getting that Peacemaker crossover soon. I can feel it in my bones. :o

I know we’re getting an Authority movie but this is making me hope we also get a Stormwatch spinoff series on Max with Grillo and others. I only read Stormwatch way back when it first started in the mid-90s but I was really into it for a while. It would be cool to see challengers like Battalion, Cannon and Synergy.

Already seeing the Clark Kent hair being compared to looking like Tony Khan. Jeeeeeeez

Well if they want Clark to look like a dweeb, hard to get more dweeber.
I mean... true lol. And I actually did enjoy AEW for a few years too.

I mean, I think he looks like a total dork, and not like Superman. That's the point though, isn't it? The amount of people hating on it shouldn't surprise me, but it still does a little lol.

I'm not a fan of that Ultraman suit myself. I know it'll look better in the actual movie but its pretty generic looking at first glance.
