Well, they tried to "control the narrative" with the official Superman picture, and reaction was mixed at best, while the papparazzi pictures have received far more acclaim.

That's more on them just being bad at their job tbh. It was a horrible photo to release as our first glimpse.

Thought Guy Gardner would be a red head. Not surprised. So...Gardner and Hawkgirl are wearing the same logo on their chest? I don't know what it is. Anyone?

In the 90s his hair looked a little more orange/blonde in the comics. I know during Johns run he was a redhead with a better haircut.

Like others have already stated, I really hope that there's a legit narrative purpose behind the costumes we saw today. I also hope that we see the other heroes wear more classic attire before the end of the film.

It would really suck to see the other heroes be stucked with these costumes for most/the entire film. I can't imagine James Gunn really being that naive enough to think anyone would like these costumes.

They look great, IMO. I don’t know why people are shocked Gunn is making a movie that looks like his movies.

With the exception of Mister Terric, both Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner look barely recognizable IMHO. The quality of the design is something that I would've expected from Smallville or the CW Arrowverse, not a multi-million dollar blockbuster.

You see they designed Terrific first, then just based Hawkgirl and Green Lantern around him. Just like The Flash after Green Arrow before he was revealed to be a Trump supporter.

It's not a question of them being from set pics. The Superman and Mr. Terrific suits look great in these set pics and in comparison to Gardner's and Hawkgirl's, there is a very clear distinction of quality, so your rebuttal here doesn't really hold water?

Regardless, I hope the corporate suit theory ends up being correct and both of them end up with more comic accurate suits by the end of the movie.

You won’t notice it until we get a trailer but the green aura that is caused by the power ring will pop with the white costume. Like I said non sanctioned set picks will never give the full effect. You have to see it on film. I hate the Hawk girl costume but because it’s a set pick you can’t see how her wings will look. Same with the Engineer and her black costume. The metal look can only be seen after production. Basically we have not seen nothing yet. If appears Gunn is going PG with the actors costumes.

I applaud Gunn for realizing that he can’t sell this as a solo Superman flick. He needs to bring dozens of heroes/characters in to make Superman interesting. Hell, If Reeves wasn’t in his way at the moment, we’d see Batman in here as well.

Gunn gave that man a bowl cut. I couldn’t stop laughing for a good 5 minutes.

Yeah, there's that too, the Guy Gardner suit will most likely have some CGI enhancements, as in theory, the suit is meant to be a construct of the ring.

It should not have taken this long to see this Superman...

You will never catch me praising James Gunn because I personally find him repulsive, but I give this production credit for how diverse Metropolis looks. Representation is everything: love the image of Supes hugging black children, I really love the look of the people; some of them walking around with cornrows, their natural hair, their own fashion styles etc, it looks like a real city.

It just might be up there with Raimi's NYC from the Spidey trilogy. But we'll see.

Unlikely, but I'd love to see a fully battle-ravaged Superman in the final fight. I don't know if there's been a fully battle-ravaged movie superhero, with the bloody bits, torn costume, exposed shoulder and all, since Raimi's Spider-Man. You lose cool points when the hero gets through the fight perfectly coifed and just a little dirty.
