The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

I remember Gunn taking a picture with past and present DC Comics writers (they were all wearing Superman shirts) were they just on the set, or did they get a peak at the Movie as well? I'd be more curious what they think tbh.
They were still filming at the time, they were on set for a visit.

What's funny about this "mess" business, is the film also doesn't come out for another 6 months and it is clearly going to go through a number of edits, VFX changes, etc. Robert Meyer Burnett has talked a number of times about the Superman Returns friends and family screening being a much different and richer film than the one that was released.

And if Sneider is saying that this is common for films to be a mess at this stage, then he is only even reporting on this film being as such because he believes it's going to get him attention, for good or bad.
Bingo. And since it gets people talking (and runs contrary to the reaction to the trailer) he gets a double whammy. I don't begrudge him his right to spout off...but I don't think he knows anything and is just riffing based on suspect information.

And he knows it too which is why he also does the cya stuff. He went out on a limb but made sure to bring a parachute within. Hell he basically invalidated the whole point of his clickbait because he knows the headline is really what most people pay attention to.

I just noticed the Daily Planet globe doesn't rotate from the clips we've seen in the teasers. I feel like that's a downgrade, but at least it's better having a globe on the roof as opposed to none at all in the Snyderverse.

In this economy, you gotta cut things and the Daily Planet does not want to pay that insane electric bill just to make the globe rotate.

I'm not the biggest Superman fan but I genuinely hope this movie turns out well. WB hasn't gotten Superman right since Donner, not really. If this ends up being a dud then I genuinely don't know what happens to Superman going forward or the DCU, for that matter.

Yes, now I have my more normie friends messaging me about Sneider's article saying the movie is bad. Some articles are running with the comparison to Captain America 1. One of my friends told me he didn't think it sounded bad at all.

Gunn needs to shut this down quick
Why? It isnt going to impact the film that is 6 months away. The general audience doesnt even know who this person is. Gunn doesnt need to address every.single.thing. Somehow movies have been able to be successful without the director saying a word.

Yep. Plus, I can assure that guys like Sneider and all those scoopers are totally unknown abroad and, save for a few very specialize/niche websites, their articles have no reach.

But when Gunn answers, it becomes something else. Because now it's a director defending and talking about his film, and so, it's automatically picked up by bigger cinema sites and so on.

Gunn should definitely talk less, at least when going against these bad rumors, as he ultimately just offering them a bigger echo.

What Gunn needs to do is announce some big news later and sort out batman. This is irrelevant. I am not worried about Sneider's report. Hoping the movie is great and does well as well. One thing i am worried about is uh the CGI...while MCU can afford messy cgi i dunno if Superman can be a Flash style mess. Also considering the two films have the same cinematographer i hope CGI wont make the film an ugly mess.

Yeah plus you know if he responds he’s going to get copycats out there, people who will say even more ludicrous things to try to be the internet star of the day

James needs to stay off Twitter and let the "scoopers" do their thing.

So reports of the film being ‘a mess’ and negative screening reactions are from Jeff ‘not invited to the press screening’ Sneider?!
Right, ok. And he’s not salty at all?!
Regardless of what a do-called scooper says, I’ll be there, opening night.

I see one of the criticisms is that the movie is like Captain America First Avenger. I can guess that anonymous person probably likes a certain type of Superman that was from a certain director. Some people don’t get Supes and never will.

Ill be more worried if they dont allow pre-screenings with legit reviewers or hold the embargo until day of release.

Basically they should just invite me. If I like it, its certified.

And The Mummy....a freaking amazing classic.
I do not see the problem.

Does that really matter anymore. Joker 2 was seen months in advance and the negative reviews hurt it real bad.
