And a bunch of DC comics, that could be made into series or a movie.

To be fair though he could want to do some other DC character not Superman.
True. I still think, whatever it is, DC is the more likely option to appeal to him from WB’s stable of IP’s.

You might be right, but everything you said there is what I thought in regards to the "Who will direct the new Star Wars?" question that hung over us when Disney acquired LucasFilm. I knew he loved it, but I absolutely never thought he would actually do it.

And on top of all that, the article singles out IP as a reason he didn't go with Apple and did go with Warner. So the way I see it, it's a DC thing or he just walks in, tears down a Fantastic Beasts poster and informs everyone he's making a new Harry Potter.

Hahaha

I wonder if LOTR is the other IP.

Makes sense for him to do original stuff first before jumping into DC as the earliest available spots will be 2022/2023 anyway.

I hope he directs say Superman, and be a creative producer for DCU, and direct a JL film. At least then this brand will not be messed around by Tsujihara wannabes

Oh and the article mentioned JJ’s wife is a founder of Time’s up and has value issues with Tsujihara, so his scandal got exposed and he got fired in March, lol, this Bad Robot battle will be a feature film one day

A lot of people think Abrams will just jump right on to DC properties, but I think he's going to try making his own things. I joined SHH back when the Flyby script was in production, and I remember all the drama surrounding the making of that film(I also remember JJ tried to get the chance to direct it back then but WB wouldn't let him. How times have changed). JJ has so much clout now, that I don't think he'll have any desire to do anything DC unless it's a dream for him.
He may show more interest in other WB properties (I have give some examples of those above) but WB should definitely ask him to direct at least one DC movie (it can be anything Superman, Supergirl or Green Lantern)

WB have many other underutilized IPs like Hanna Barbara and other properties like -

While some of these are nice, I see Abrams really going for a big name franchise like Superman or Green Lantern. He would have first pick, he would want something big. A lot of these seem quite kiddie, though it would be cool to get Thundercats or Herculoids movies. :yay:

You offer Abrams Superman and make him turn you down.

Yeah, I think WB would ask him to direct some DC property, though WB own so many other IPs many of which are not effectively utilized. The examples I have given are not everything either, WB also own Loony Tunes, Samurai Jack, Mortal Kombat and movie making rights to Harry Potter-verse.

I would prefer that Abrams continues with Henry Cavill as Superman.

Interesting new article about J.J. Abrams' two Superman: Flyby scripts, the story details, casting, and how it was influenced in that era by the popularity of The Matrix:

Superman: Flyby, J.J. Abrams' Superman Movie

Also that when Ratner was director he wanted Matt Bomer, but the studio wanted Josh Hartnett.

Cavill's audition (when he was 20) in the suit:

Armie Hammer Reportedly Being Eyed To Play The DCEU's Superman

Who knows. Probably just heresay but at this point continuity is ****ed outside of Wonder woman and Aquaman.

Based on the source...Armie Hammer probably was just kicked of the WB lot and is making a Spidey film. **************** sucks :D

Nicholas Hoult is my pick to play Superman especially now that they have gone younger with Pattinson as Bruce...you go younger with Clark and you have Hoult

I barely believed him as Beast.

People really love Kelsey Grammer as Beast because he really nailed that very proper uptight smart guy who couldn't hide the "Beast" within. Hoult didn't really have that tension. He was more a quiet guy who suddenly just sprouted blue hair!

When 'We Got This Covered' try to spread a news item, the only thing they got covered are their tracks, their lies, by saying "things can change last minute" or "he is only one of many candidates" etc. It's annoying that they're quoted as a news/rumor source!

Armie as a rumored candidate for any DC role needs to stop, stat! (cough *HalJordanmaybe* cough)

I hate Kelsey Grammer in pretty much everything. He has ONE character, and that's all he can play - Frasier. I enjoyed Hoult in the role.

Anyway, if Hammer is really on WB's radar (who even knows at this point if they are even thinking about Superman) I'd be down for him in the role. He never felt right for Batman to me, but Superman? Sure, why not? He's kinda got the right look, and he definitely has the size to pull it off. Though I bet that would lead to some angry, drunken text messages from his Man from UNCLE costar, lol.

I love the KC emblem so much.

Routh looks so old. Was he aged up with lighting and makeup, or does he just look like that now? If it's the latter, then that makes me feel old.

He's been aged up. He's playing Kingdom Come Superman.

Seeing this convinced me he deserves a second chance. I’d take him over Cavill.

I've seen a lot of people suggest this since this picture debuted and I agree.

If MCU can bring back the same actor for Jonah Jameson, why not do it for Superman? If Routh's performance on Infinite Crisis is well received, it could be a safe route to take. Cavill fans will be pissed, but that will be true no matter who is cast in the role.

Honestly, I think much of the general public has forgotten Routh's already played Superman so it will be a fresh start to some.
