Honestly if Marvel can make Captain America work while staying true to his core values then I don't know on why Superman is so difficult for Warner Bros.

He should be. I could see WB feeling they need to go with a more "familiar face" for the role (I'm just basing that off the Pattinson casting for Batman) but Coronswet just seems perfect.

See I flip back & forth I want Cavill back but thinking of a recast with Corenswet feels like its the better option. Say they wait until a 2023 release, the thought of JJ Abrams directing with David Corenswet starring has me really excited.

Yeah, I feel like Cavill kinda got screwed. I really liked him in MoS and I feel like the movie's shortcomings were in the script and direction. But then BvS happened and in an effort to prop up Ben Affleck's mediocre Batman, all Cavill was told to do was scowl silently and die. Cavill was better in JL but the movie was a mess and with the whole mustachegate thing, it felt like the final nail in the coffin. I think it's better to start fresh, especially if the movie doesn't come out until 2023. And if that's the case, Coronswet seems like the perfect guy for it.

McQuarrie & Cruise should go for Green Lantern next, but I’d take Cruise reteaming with Abrams too!

I'd LOVE to see him get on it, but since that seems unlikely, I'm still on board for Abrams' Supes. Just no Terrio, pls.

It's a bit premature to already write off JJ because of Star Wars. First of all, let's wait to see the overall general reaction to that first (as well as watching the movie for yourself.) And, secondly, SW is a different beast.

WB paid 250 million for Abrams. They're not going to toss him aside over a mixed reaction to ROS. He'll still get any project he chooses.

As for McQuarrie. Once WB apparently didn't even hear him out last year I doubt he gets back in unless Abrams plays peacemaker and brings him aboard.

Whatever mixed reaction Rise of Skywalker gets, it's not like it will be D.O.A.. SW has problems that go beyond Abrams, to Disney, Kennedy etc. It will be highly debated and looks to still be a hit.
