Well like you say, weâll just have to agree to disagree there because I donât find that to be the case AT ALL. Especially not in a post-Snyder DC world. Superman moved on from that theme/style a long time ago, and whenever they try to bring it back (as in Smallville or JL), the results have just been...sad and awkward.
I donât think get Snyder movies are a good measure to say thatâs the cases for general audiences accepting moving on from it when this episode movies werenât well received.
I disagree that the theme has felt sad and awkward when used in recent times. It worked well in Smallville and even better in Krypton. The one time itâs felt off was in Justice League which we all know why. Iâd also add while Superman Returns was a mixed bag itâs score was fantastic & John Othman mixed the Williams music well wity his new stuff, so I think the WIlliams theme can easily work with a more modern score. Also I hate fan edits when they mix music in thatâs not intended for something but a fan edit of the Williams theme in Tyler Hoechlinâs first appearance as Superman worked extremely well.
Btw Iâm not saying I wonât accept a new theme either cause I will but I definitely think the majority of general audiences expect the theme. Which Iâm taking from people I know and even social media reactions from people who watch the movies but arenât massively into this stuff. I honestly wouldnât be shocked at all if in the next movie we hear the Williams theme again.
