Highly doubt that given her god awful solo bombed and lost money. I just wanna know what WB’s plans are exactly. On the surface it sounds like there getting back into bed with snyder to give fans closer but if his cut is a hit then what do you do? Move forward with what they had planned 3 years ago?
It's def interesting, I think if the Snyder cut is a hit, they will just go full throttle on the DCEU, WW3, AM2, maybe 3, Flash, shazam2, maybe even MOS2 etc etc
I suspect they want the Snyder Cut to hype people up for Henry Cavill as Superman again a bit, but I think they've been planning Superman and Shazam for a while. It's like the worst kept secret in superhero movies. The question was whether Superman would be played by Henry or someone else.
I feel it's a transition, they want superman to be seen as this positive, mentor type character, which, he can totally be in S!2 and then spring board from there, but like, I feel it serve S!2 well, they set him up in the first and he can be the father figure type in the sequel.
Piqued with whom? It's the same people that were already fans. A loud vocal minority. Fans of Cavill will remain whether the Snyder cut is good or bad.
The general audience doesn't care and never have. He was okay. It was the same reaction to Routh by the GA.
Honestly, just like the Bat vs Superman extended version, those who love Snyder's take on DC will love his version of JL and those who don't will continue to hate it. I don't see much in the way of saying opinions.
Honestly, this Cavill news just baffles me if there is no MOS 2. Makes no sense. I almost wonder if this is WBs way of attempting to boost Shazam 2s BO, as the first one was slightly underwhelming at the BO.
I'm also curious if The Rock had any involvement. He's friends with Cavill and If WB is thinking of a Shazam vs Black Adam showdown, I could see how they would want Superman involved.
That's the only way I could see this. Even that is nowhere ideal.
It's trending on twitter, Cavill is a big deal - good looking, movie goers know him, witcher is very popular - to get him back as superman keeps the GA intrigued.
Testing the waters. If the cameo is well-received, he might get another solo. If it goes over like a lead-balloon like his other appearances, they'll move on for a fresh start. That's my guess.
Yeah, they have a good superman, a hot right now (albeit streaming) actor... it's just easier than rebooting.
Sorry, I just do not see it. WB knows what they are getting with Cavill. They've had three movies now for the audience to decide how they feel about him. Hardcore fans love or like him, and the general audience is indifferent to him.
At this point you would just be serving hardcores without truly giving them anything of substance. I don't see this make or breaking MOS 2.
Disagree, as a person, an actor, people like Henry - MOS gave us potential, BvS was the script, plot and direction... JL made people like superman, even the cgi lip, people still like him and you know what, people don't have high expectations of superman, they really don't, they just wanna see cool saves and a bloke with a secret identity.
A Superman film needs to be special. It needs to be unique and it needs to be great. The character has a lot to prove and, it pains me to say this, I don't think he's particularly popular among the general audience.
I believe that can change but they absolutely cannot half-ass it.
I disagree - superman has nothing to prove... he's iconic - the chosen director, however, does.
