Yeah, I've always gotten this vibe there won't be. I feel like Gunn is only buying time for Reeves. I think we get a second Batman flick from Reeves and that is it. But this is just my mere speculation with no real info, simply a gut feeling. Eh.
If anything Reeves Batman will come to the DCU. The fact that Reeves is doing the Arkham series for the DCU gives me hope.

This was “news” back in November 2023 — shortly after Gisondo was cast. Given that table reads are now imminent, it seems unlikely that the actor would be turfed at this stage.
If anything, Hollywood would more likely fire someone for the opposite by calling a spade, a spade.

I'm for The Batman franchise not continuing. Not even Matt Reeves could get me to care for Batman as a character.

I liked The Batman and I'm looking forward for II but I'm tired of the brooding, depressed and grounded Batman thing already. I want comicbooky blue-gray suit Batman and friends, going against villains like Mr Freeze, Clayface and Poison Ivy, and interacting with Superman and the JL

I couldn't care less about The Brave and the Bold tbh. Although I'm not as jazzed on Reeves' Batman as I was when it first came out, I'm certain it's infinitely more interesting than a Batman movie that would have to conform in order to fit into a cohesive universe. I used to love the idea of a DC film universe to rival Marvel's, but in retrospect I think it's a blessing that the DCAU died on its arse. IMO they should get back to letting directors go crazy and putting their own unique and interesting spins on these characters. Cinema was certainly a more interesting, colourful, and varied place for it.

Anyways, back to Superman.

That Corenswet manipulation may be the closest one yet to what he may actually look like in reality

aaaand I'm out

He's on the side that Hollywood, the media and the white house supports, so he'll remain as Jimmy.

Should make for an interesting twist on the Jimmy/ Supergirl relationship.

Probably not going to happen but would you guys be on board if they cast Pattinson again as DCU Batman?
Nah. Pattinson, like Bale, will probably be done after three films. He'd want to move towards Oscar bait films.

Whoever cast as the DCU Batman becomes the face of this whole franchise. He'll need to appear in multiple films.

I feel like we are going to get a very different world than the one Pattison is in. I don't want full campy Bats but something closer to comics where he and Supes have jokes with each other, take something from the brave and the bold animated series.

You mean somehow merging the tone and continuity of The Batman with the planned DCU? For several reasons, that strikes me as unlikely.

Generally, I’m nitpicky when it comes to “tonal” consistency within a shared universe situation. Now, we don’t have a lot of info about Gunn’s approach to Legacy. But we do know about the source material for the Woman of Tomorrow movie. And it’s fairly fantastical (as oppose to “grounded”). Therefore, by association, we might guess that Legacy will exist in this same fantastical sub-genre. Which means… there’d be a large “conceptual distance” between the world created by Reeves and the one that Gunn is in the process of building.

They could use the Key Tower or the Terminal Tower in Cleveland's public square to double as the Daily Planet exterior.

Yeah I love Pattinson in the role, but unless they totally overhaul the aesthetic then I just don't see it working. Everything about Pattinson in The Batman is perfectly constructed for that world, not the fantastical leanings the Batman in the DCU will likely have.
