This is probably the first time I've seen an onscreen Clark Kent (maybe since Reeve) where you could conceivably believe that people wouldn't recognise him as Superman. I wonder if he'll change his voice and posture also.

If anyone would like to copy Clark's haircut, it is The Broccoli Cut. Some seem to be calling it The Zoomerman.

The Zoomer haircut comes with the fade, Clarks is fairly equal length all round.

Mophead Clark looks really good.

In addition to the haircut, they did a great job with David's costume design as Clark. The suit jacket has a relaxed fit with wide shoulders, which helps conceal his Superman build in contrast to Henry's very fitted tailoring as Clark Kent that showed all of his muscles.

I can't tell for certain, but it appears that the suit jacket may even be double-breasted, which is a great reference to classic Superman comics while actually being consistent with current trends (they are coming back especially with fashionable younger Millennials and Zoomers). Which is also a match for his dorky Zoomer haircut. Even if the jacket is single-breasted, the peak lapels are still a very nice homage to the archetypal depiction of Clark Kent in a double breasted suit.

Also, I love how he wears his suit with a classic All-American button down shirt. It adds a certain relaxedness that offsets the formality of the double-breasted cut/peak lapels.

Just as important as the clothes is how he is wearing them. The collar button is undone and the tie loose. The jacket is left open. All of this gives the overall impression of a relaxed and/or slightly sloppy image. Perfect match for a hard-working investigative journalist who is possibly sleeping in his clothes or alternatively slipping them back on in mere milliseconds in an alleyway while rushing back from a disaster.

Ulysses is a cool concept, I'll admit. Could be a cool, big swing for Gunn.

Amazing how we can get comments like these from 2 days of filming pics when we literally went 4 months of shooting with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I mean...these are the same type of people who on one hand will complain if a trailer shows too much AND complain when the trailer shows them nothing

I have no intention of judging the movie based on one set pic. Just expressing the fear that arose in me

When you've gone from over the top blind expectation to 'omg that film just broke my heart', your poor little fan mind becomes a bit hyper vigilant of history repeating itself.

Well Ulysses matches more, but man that back story would be a tough row to hoe in a new universe.

I’ve always been of the camp that the best way that Superman/Clark hides the “secret identity” is that no one in their right mind would conceive that Superman would have a secret identity. As in, if you had the power of Superman, why would you hide it by taking the form of a mild-mannered dorky guy?

The answer of course is that you do that if you truly are a mild mannered dorky guy who happens to be supremely powerful. In many ways, Superman differs from every other superhero when it comes to the concept of secret identity. Neither the superhero nor the regular average Joe personas are put-ons when it comes to Superman/Clark, because he is fully both at his core.

Someone like Lex cannot fathom that Superman would live Clark Kent’s life. He thinks that the power defines who Superman is. But that’s where Lex is dead wrong. Superman is Clark. It isn’t an act.

That’s also why I don’t like versions of Lois who disregard Clark while being enamored with Superman. If she disregards Clark, then she is disregarding a major portion of Superman’s inherent nature.

I don't always agree with her but I do enjoy Grace Randolph's videos. I see where she is coming from, honestly...compared to what the MCU has given us. But we all have opinions. Everyone still looks great to me.

It's funny, I never attached much importance to the fact that Clark absolutely had to be unrecognizable from Superman.
The glasses sufficient to conceal his identity are part of an agreement I, as a viewer, have with the author, and that's enough for me. In the same way, I don't need to know how Bruce Wayne was able to build a gigantic batcave with his own hands and the sole support of a 70-year-old man. But in the end, all of this really depend of the tone of the adaptation.

That said, one explanation for why no one makes the connection between Clark and Superman, which I like very much, is that no one is actually looking for the superhero in everyday life. No one even has the idea that he'd bother with a secret identity, riding the bus, going to work, and so on.

Anyway, I'm happy with Clark's look. Once again, it's quite close to the classic look, although I have to admit that I immediately thought of clown wigs when I saw the first photo.
It looks much more natural in the following images.

I don't always agree with her but I do enjoy Grace Randolph's videos. I see where she is coming from, honestly...compared to what the MCU has given us. But we all have opinions. Everyone still looks great to me.

I enjoy her too but she has always had issues with Superman and has been in James Gunn’s dog house lately with her sources. It seems to me when her stock goes down she takes a shot at DC. Superman has never been edgy or a sex symbol. He has always been in the comics the “Big Blue” Boy Scout. That stands for truth and justice. If you don’t like that Superman is not for you. I have never seen a comic or live action Superman that was ever portrayed as a sex symbol.

I wasn't sure if the Clark hair was working for me at first, but seeing it side by side with David as Superman and it's perfect. You'd actually believe they're two different people.

Obviously, the short scene and photos we got aren't the best evidence with Clark having to dive and duck through the crowd, but I think he will be. His Clark posture seems noticeably less straight and erect than his Superman posture to me. The head seems to jut forward more.

I always liked the idea that people never saw through it because they subconsciously don't want to. Their brain won't let them see it. It was a stretch at first, but seeing as how people think new actors are cast because a beard was shaven or they got a haircut I totally buy it.

I have heard it said before that the simplest disguises work the best.

Its not her opinions that are the problem...it is when she is caught red handed lying or spreading misinformation that makes her worthless. Her grudge against certain people doesn't help.
