The Daily Planet - Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

Eh. that smoothed-out look seems stiff with the material of this suit. The suit is mostly dope as is and is unique among the different ones across the years. I don’t see a change coming and don’t think it’s necessary. At least not in this first film.

I work with teens and it tickles me silly that the goofy hairdos they wear are also Superman's hair of choice.

I don't mind the lines and designs but I just wish there was less creasing in the suit

They do look cool together

I really don't get it tbh I think this Superman would be way better paired with a batsuit that's somewhat more fantastical in its nature (whether by being a futuristic armor, or some sort of fabric that still looks very protective and practical) and maybe adapts something like the Alex Ross Batman silhouette through the lens of a modern superhero costume design (same way this suit adapted Quitely's and Alex's as well). Arkhamverse Batman, Bloodsport and Captain America post-TWS are good references for how I imagine they'll go about the materials and general philosophy on how to adapt that sort of look. Even Ultraman can give some hints due to its tactical nature.

Said it before but the Batman Inc. design would be great as well: Batman by Grant Morrison Vol 3 - 030.jpg

They do something along these lines and they're golden in terms of a batsuit that complements and constrasts with Corenswet's Superman nicely.

I do think they should keep the black though. I think a good chunk of the reason people look at Battinson and Corenswet side by side thinking they look nice is that the black and grey just contrasts really really well with Superman's bright blue, red and yellow colors. It'd not have the same effect with the blue.

To be clear, when I say 'I'm spiralling' that's me owning that my response feels a bit irrational and emotionally charged.

I have no intention of judging the movie based on one set pic. Just expressing the fear that arose in me 😅

There is a second possibility that might actually fit - Ulysess

Accurate. And thank you! 😅

When you've gone from over the top blind expectation to 'omg that film just broke my heart', your poor little fan mind becomes a bit hyper vigilant of history repeating itself.

And I was just about to say that this thread is entering into 'but what have you done for me lately' territory. :p
