It isn't commonplace to have a legacy sequel where we recast the main character because they're no longer around. Prequels with younger versions....yeah.Superman Returns truly was the first real legacy sequel. Back then we were shocked that they were sequelizing a thirty year old film, now it's completely commonplace.
The movie is a mixed bag but I'll always have soft spot for it. Routh definitely had the makings of a great Superman but was wasted. I'm glad he got his redemption in Crisis.
Mom and pop from Krypton. It would appear that corporations already established in the DCU are monetizing/bankrolling heroes
And then here comes ol big blue who is bigger and better than them all, and he’s as mom and pop as it gets. I like it.
Yeah those suits are definitely made by Mr. Terrific
We got jackets's all over the costuming in this movie.
How Arrowverse of themWe got jackets's all over the costuming in this movie.
Ok so they got Guy Gardner wearing essentially the same LordTech getup as Mr. Terrific, interesting
Since it’s been mentioned that this Superman exists in a world where other superheroes exist and are already established, knowing how James Gunn like to throw in a little bit of real life commentary and meta-ness into his films, wonder if these superheroes working for Maxwell Lord and wearing matching outfits is Gunn throwing shade at the MCU and the same-iness of pretty much all of those films from having to fit into a certain mold and image to be “sold“ to the masses and not really being able to deviate and do their own thing due to being hamstrung by corporate interests and needing to play it safe for international appeal. It would appear that corporations already established in the DCU are monetizing/bankrolling heroes

Good point.Ya just seems like they're team uniforms, Either JLI or The Terrifics, I don't mind as long they still have specific powers, which obviously they will.
I think the imagery of the Bowl cut and the Ring work enough for Guy. And the Mace and wings, and helmet are enough for Hawkgirl. I would have liked a bit closer to to comics, but I don't think the suits themselves will be ugly.
Actress Is pretty young, maybe Gunn approaches the character as kind of new, naive of the scene, so maybe she just got wrapped up in the "wrong" group.Good point.
I can see Guy and maybe Terrific being for that but Kendra? It's not a very Hawk thing.
Maybe it's just The Terrifics and that's just Terrifitech's logo.Actress Is pretty young, maybe Gunn approaches the character as kind of new, naive of the scene, so maybe she just got wrapped up in the "wrong" group
Adding on to this, I could see it being near the end of the movie and Luthor is like “well if you don’t wanna play ball with me, you can’t wear my logo or that suit, I own it” and then Clark wears a suit and logo made by Ma KentWeren’t there also set pics of Superman merchandise in a store as Clark was walking by? So it looks like they’re trying to monetize him too, wouldn’t surprise me if that’s Luthor’s doing
wait... that's Guy Gardner???
I gotta be honest man I don't think this theory makes any sense lmao Especially since the Superman suit already looks extremely traditional it's just clearly James take on it.Adding on to this, I could see it being near the end of the movie and Luthor is like “well if you don’t wanna play ball with me, you can’t wear my logo or that suit, I own it” and then Clark wears a suit and logo made by Ma Kent
