Sneider might have the most unearned confidence of anyone in the scoop game and I find it as fascinating as I do annoying.

Like, okay, you’ve gotten some scoops right. Why do you think you’re a limitless fountain of knowledge about journalism and the film industry?
Sneider is the type of guy who has a picture of his car and a big fish he caught as his profile pictures on dating sites...

Sorry is there a more sickening thought than Sneider and his goons of all people explaining what a black woman should do with her career. Even under the guise of being ‘fans’.

Except her career is at a standstill (thanks to Origins' PR disaster and the When They See Us lawsuit) and yes as fans we are making constructive suggestions, including what a good fit she would be for the Ghost redo with Channing Tatum.

If you don't like it, that's perfectly fine. But hiding behind race without ever addressing the issue is lazy and cowardice.

So... what's everyone's opinion on the July line up?

Jurassic World: Rebirth will win next summer worldwide. Albeit continuing with its dwindling returns. Dominion (which was, no pun intended, universally despised) crossed $1B by its finger tips. Thinking more like $800M-$850M, which is still a big-ass win.

There's just this... feeling in the air. I really believe Superman is going to deliver the goods and will win next summer domestically. We'll see.

Nobody really expects Fantastic Four to stay there. That's going to take Blade's November slot.

My hope at the moment is that @FilmNerdJamie is correct and F4 ends up moving, because I can’t imagine it would be in the best interest of this film to be sandwiched so closely between those two.

F4 moving really makes all the sense in the world, though. Superman had, what? A 4-5 month head start in terms of production, but both movies are expected to open two weeks apart? How is that not crazy?

JW will be a "win" if they don't balloon the budget which I just don't see happening. The last one cost over a quarter billion dollars and it was pure trash. The diminishing returns will be problematic if it needs like $700/800 million just to break even. And it is not expected to finish filming until October...I bet it moves to August where it will have almost nothing to compete with. (based on the 3 minutes of research I did)

Fantastic Four will definitely move and yeah Blade's spot makes the most sense since, unless I missed it, they havent even began filming yet or even announced a schedule.

Pretty sure the reason they hired Edwards for JW is precisely because “not ballooning the budget” is his specialty. He’s a s***ty storyteller, but he makes movies that look like they cost way more than they did, which is why he keeps getting hired for things.

Jurassic World will win the summer, though I do expect it to do slightly worse than its predecessor. I just hope Superman will hold its own. No idea if it will or not, but I just hope it will, and F4 moving would certainly be encouraging on that front. That one won’t be another Deadpool but I still expect it to be one of the MCU’s more successful post-Endgame outings.

Right now my realistic hope for Supes is $550-650 WW (at least $300mil domestic) and a positive reception from critics and audiences. Anything better than that would be gravy imo. The DCU’s audience won’t be there Day One - they’ve gotta build it back. Starting with a movie that surprises people and they end up loving when they finally do get around to seeing it is step one. Much like Batman Begins.

Edwards was hired because they needed a shooter. Someone who can work with that tight schedule and meet the date requirements.

No knock against him (although personally I've not liked any of his films). Just the reality of the situation.

Jurassic World Rebirth I don't think is safe to win that crown. Yes, they keep making a billion, but eventually that we'll dries up when the movies dont deliver. Pirates 5 didn't cross 800 mil and Transformers The Last Knight also dropped significantly after those were cracking a billion left and right. The Fast Saga recently also is declining after being good for a billion. So Jurassic World Rebirth I can easily see falling into that 700ish range. Question is, will Supermam or FF be able to get the WOM to beat out of that happens? Time will tell there

Someone named Cinema Maverick on YouTube says WB is going with a "Barbie" type roll out of the trailer for "Superman", and as Barbie had the first trailer attached to "Avatar" for the views and eyes, Superman will be attached to Mufasa on December 20th.

Don't know who this person is or history of his channel, but it is the first I have heard of anything with the trailer.

Didn’t Gunn say that we weren’t getting footage until next year? Mufasa is also very different from Avatar when it comes to viewership numbers and GA exposure. Mufasa won’t have nearly the same reach, so that logic doesn’t fully add up for me.

They aren't gonna wait til a more popular film comes out to start they're marketing though. Nothing is as guaranteed to have eyes on it as Avatar so you can't really hold out hope for something like that.

Joker will arguably be the biggest movie until Superman, but Gunn seems to be hellbent on no trailer this year for some godforsaken reason.

I don't remember what he said exactly about footage, but sure, it'd be a good idea to throw a lil 30s teaser in front of Joker. NYCC and CCXP are the next big conventions and I think they'll wanna show up to at least one.

I feel like Superman will not make as much as WB hopes, but it will be a hit with critics and fans, And definitely a big hit on streaming for those that skipped it's run on the big screen.
A way too early prediction. 650 mill ( ish ) WW. 280 domestic.

I would absolutely love to be wrong and see it gross 800 mill +, but I think the former snyderverse will hurt it somewhat.

If the budget isn't out of control then WB would be more than happy with that if it gets reviewed well by fans and critics. I don't think WB has the luxury to be picky at this point ;)

Yeah I'm with you there, and that doesn't feel like a dissapointing result for me or for the DCU in general.

It may be that Superman doesn't make big bucks, but it does start to generate encouraging discourse around the new direction.

Selfishly... I just want 1 Superman movie I can point to and say 'that one. That's a good example of my Superman'. It doesn't even have to blow me away!

So my personal goals are pretty low key 😅
