The best trailer to a superhero thing that I've ever seen

I am dead serious
It can't be understated. This trailer and the 2nd are " chefs kiss " and i personally don't like using that term as it gets overused imo. EVERYTHING in those trailers were clinically thought and edited. I remember being in the cinema, people gossiping over the generic trailers, edited with lame music and then this comes on and everyone shuts the **** up and was engrossed. It should be used as a stable of trailer production in film school or something because those trailers were perfection imo. I still watch it from time to time, more so the 2nd though and its because of the absolute stakes that ramp up with the score. Batman's march mostly makes that trailer make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, I don't think i would quite experience that feeling again.

Just a thought that I haven’t seen anyone speculate about.

Some of us have assumed (and at least in my case, hoped) that Ultraman will ultimately start to devolve because of some error that Lex makes and he’ll ultimately turn into a version of Bizarro. I personally love this idea because I really like Bizarro.

However, I remember a while back there was a rumor about Ultra-Humanite being the villain in this movie. I believe it turned out to be fake but… what if Gunn decided to make Ultraman turn into him instead? Maybe his intellect grows to mad genius levels but his body devolves into that of an ape? It sounds goofy but I could see Gunn doing something like that. I still would prefer that he becomes Bizarro but I think this could be an interesting villain transformation too.

So I still wish WB wouldn’t overspend on Superman’s marketing, but with all the “Summer of Superman” and “Barbie” talk, it sounds like they are planning to go all out.

IF they do, I hope they are taking notes from Universal’s Wicked campaign because good lord, this is the most aggressive movie promo I’ve seen in a good while. Showcasing the chemistry of the cast everywhere possible, SNL hosting gig, new featurettes online every day for like the last 2 weeks, a primetime network behind-the-scenes special hosted by the stars, decking out famous global landmarks for each premiere, tons of merch and advance screening fan events…if Wicked’s not successful, you certainly can’t say Universal didn’t give it their all. Just imagine all that with David, Rachel, Nick & Co. I’d die.

Who would you like to host Saturday Night live? My money would be on Rachel.

Hey we could have another Barbenheimer on our hands with Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman! :awesome:

I agree, except I think they should take notes because it is an awful campaign for Wicked. It is way overkill and is as likely to turn people off to the film as convince them to see it. Plus the more times you see the trailer the worse it looks...and I have seen it in many formats now. Not to mention they don't seem to ever mention they split a rather short musical into 2 parts which will annoy people.

I want an aggressive campaign, but I want it to be way more reserved than Wicked. Don't be Di$ney and try and suck all of the air out of the room let it build. Don't try and force hype let it grow organically.

Well we shall have to see how Wicked does, but the impression I’m getting right now is that what they’re doing has worked.

Wicked is the favorite to win the Holiday box office and is second in pre ticket sales for the year next to Deadpool. I think the marketing campaign is doing its job. Unlike Joker 2 it will bring in theater fans as well casual movie goers. Superman’s marketing will probably be aimed at everyone. This will be the first DC movie that will hit all 4 Quadrants since I can remember. Gunn appears to be trying to bring a comic/cartoon to real life. Not turn a Superhero into a drama or action star. This will be Superman. Not James Bond, Luke Skywalker, ect…..
