So it's a teaser after all.

Definitely the first trailer on the Super Bowl, then.

The teaser trailer is the first trailer. :funny:

They are really making an event out of this trailer.
Don't make me tap the sign!

It'll be a teaser trailer that will show only the title and logo with voiceovers of David's Superman, Rachel's Lois, and Nicholas's Lex with Krypto making a quick cameo. :o

Can't believe the disdain for the brilliant TDK teaser in here. We got it almost a year out just after the completion of principal production. It was an awesome early tease and really set the mood and stakes of the film perfectly. People who wanted more at that point were being unreasonably greedy.

And then we got one of the greatest modern trailers of all time just a few months later along with the IMAX prologue:

I'll never forget the punch that was that trailer. The day it dropped, it ate my brain.
I was doing an internship at a print shop and the thing was playing over and over in my head.
And within a few days, it seemed everyone was in the same state. :funny:

There have been other popular trailers since, but I don't think I can honestly recall another with the same impact.
I mean, ALL the lines were instantly cult and repeated by everyone, beyond fan circles (and this was a time when CBMs weren't yet the fashionable thing they've become).

Crazy to think that was 17 years ago...

All of this takes me back. I remember being just speechless when that trailer ended. It was an amazing era.

What 90's grunge band fits Superman?
From a purely sonic point of view, and even if they're not really grunge, I have to say Foo Fighters...
I know it's a very conventional answer with that way-too-easy link to My Hero, but really, beyond that song, the band's signature embodies the character quite well, I think.
It has a bit of the youthful edge of grunge, but it doesn't sound too rugged, and the layered guitar parts generally sound powerful, airy (I don't know if that adjective is being used in that way in english) and bright.

I'm having trouble finding other references otherwise: I like my grunge especially tortured and miserable and Cavill doesn't have the role anymore so... :o
