To be fair to Durance, I thought she acquitted herself very well, especially in the later seasons of the show and was one of its highlights. Her acting was very much CW teen show level, but for me it worked really well in the context.

She was no Katie Holmes.

As a teen, I found Durance's Lois very attractive, but as an adult who is more aware of issues involving the media's depiction and objectification of women, it is very clear that the way that character's attractiveness was depicted is problematic.

I'm sure someone else said the same thing but that trailer also did tell a meta story.

It starts off with Superman being battered and bloodied and it's pretty much what the DCEU did to Superman and his reputation.

He whistled for Krypto, a sign of finally doing something different and new cinematically, and said "Take me Home"... Take him back to what Superman was always about.

I didn't say that is where her attractiveness comes from, I said that is how the show unfortunately depicted her attractiveness and the manner in which the posted in issue expressed their opinion as a put down of the attractiveness of Lois' other actors.

Well that is what I mean by "she could be anyone". She is fine...but she would have been fine as "Clark's season 8 love interest in Metropolis" nothing about the character screamed Lois Lane to me. That was probably more due to the writers having no real purpose to her being on the show...

Jeff Sneider says Gunn fired the entire VFX team 2 weeks ago after an internal test screening of the movie in Burbank.
