I would much rather the reports of this movie needing work (because all movies need work) then it being the greatest film since the dark knight.

In fact, every DC movie that's had a standing ovation or some other nonsense through rumors ends up being a disappointment. So this is good news in my book.

Sneider is a reporter, he is reporting on what his sources are telling him, I don't think it has anything to do with being salty. But I get it, people would rather hear things are great from influencers who get access in return for positive comments online.

Gunn has always managed to put together coherent movies so I'm not exactly worried. Also, this movie should be different then his other films so when people watch it, it may be jarring from their perspective. Whether a film is good or bad is always a matter of opinion.

At this stage, it's not really that big of a deal. Also keep in mind with the writers strike, Gunn has been working on a tight timeline to get this movie to come together.

😉 Boy Clark has a dorky walk. Nobody is gonna suspect that is Supes.
As I mentioned in the Clark thread, that shot really drives home that David really, really is a big, big boi. He takes up the entire revolving door both in height and width.

Probably the thing I like the most about the trailer (besides good boi Krypto) is the hint that this is a story of Lois Lane falling for dorky Clark. It's seemingly still early in their relationship (no hello when he arrives), she doesn't know he's Superman and therefore gets to focus on his "human" persona - the competent journalist who beats her in scoops, all while being a naive farmboy. If this is a story of her seeing the kind-hearted & intelligent guy behind all the dorkness, where his superheroism plays no role in her favorable perception of him, then it's a first for a Superman film, and I'm in.

I've lost track of what Gunn has said about where Lois is in regards to the secret identity, so I could be off. But I loved the steamy kiss scene more than any superhero shot.

The issue is Sneider has a problem with Gunn and waited to release his information after the Superman trailer blew up the internet. Sneider did this for attention and all the anti DCU crowd is running with this report. I have actually heard some positive things from the screenings but like everyone on this board knows until real critics see this movie, you don’t know what you have on your hands. Sneider has a business so he is doing what he has to do but when I hear a “mess” that tells me nothing. I have heard the “mess” statement with every DCEU movie including Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Probably the best movies in the Snyder era.

I am seeing a lot of "there are too many characters in the trailer" and I don't really get it?

Most of the shots feature Superman/Clark Kent (you know, the main protagonist), so it seems the focus was very much put on him. He seems to have a large supporting cast, yes, but the trailer did not sideline him at all.

Gunn did an excellent job in the trailer of showing both Clark and Superman. People who don’t get Superman don’t understand that you cannot do Superman without Clark. Kal-El is both characters and Gunn seems to get that.

There are going to be positive and negative reaction rumors all the way to the movie's release. Some will turn out right, some won't. Part of the reason you show it to your trusted confidants is to receive honest constructive criticism and recognize potential issues especially with an early cut when there's plenty of time to address them.

Ultimately, I won't know what I feel about the final product until I see it .

I can't speak to Sneider's info and I can't get triggered by it .

I want the film to be good and well received , but that's out of my control, as a fan.

I understand the investment alot of fandom has in this film, but we really do just need to wait to see the final product.

There are gonna be alot of different "scoops" and "rumors" between now and July .

We just have to wait and see what happens, and let the chips fall where they may .

It’s funny because if you replaced the heroes in the trailer with generic non-super looking people, they wouldn’t complain. It’s not the character count that’s the issue. It’s because the characters wear tights.

I feel like people have this weird aversion to the idea that supporting characters can be heroes, and it doesn’t mean the movie will be crowded.

Heroes cameo in stories all the time. They don’t need to have significant arcs or screen time to be effective for the story at hand.

No, he agreed with a James Gunn response about the Batman. Listen I think he wants the Batman to be its own thing and Gunn agrees with him. But we all know in Hollywood it’s all about the money especially with WB suits.
That Gunn response was based on Reeves wanting to do his own thing. Reeves was backing up Gunn debunking the rumor.

Fascinating. Based on this, I am thinking Boravia is located in central Asian, possibly intended to be a post-Soviet Republic, with its neighbour, Jarhanpur, seemingly being a South Asian country based on the ethnicity and dress of its people.
Oh Grace would be so mad...so close to being The Middle East without being right. She will whine and pretend they changed it to spite her :clown: :o

Jeff Sneider says a recent internal test screening in Burbank did not go well and that the movie is “kind of a mess” which left WB executives nervous.

Oh I'm sure this is the one time he had been right about this film...he certainly hasn't shown to be completely full of it multiple times already and totally thirsty cause he is personal non grata at DC these days. I'm sure his "source" is like, totally legit!

Two days of reshoots alone debunks his obvious bs!

Sneider has zero sources on this film. He has been proven wrong at every turn. This has zero to do with us wanting positive news and us calling a spade a spade. He has a grudge and it is coloring the things he says. Same with Grace Randolph who hasn't had a legit WB source since Snyder left for Netflix.

I honestly don't care how internal screenings go they are meaningless. (See BvS) But trusting reports comes down to who is reporting it. Sneider is not the guy im going out on a limb for. Sorry. If it turns out to be true I will give him credit. (Not that we will know most likely)

You’re wrong. Sneider is confrontational but he’s a good reporter. He was one of the founding members of The Wrap and was the lead entertainment reporter for Variety ten years ago. To say that he’s some spurned jabroni with a blog is untrue.

Rumors about screenings are not always accurate (remember BvS getting standing ovations in internal WB screenings?)

Sorry, no. “Good reporters” don’t ask BS like this:

Gunn’s career without Kevin Feige is much more erratic.

Having sources does not make you a good reporter. He's a self-absorbed narcissist. Glad Gunn didn't give him the time of day. He and Grace can stew together.

Was*

I don't doubt that he still has sources and I acknowledge he still gets some things right. But the dude has no class and thin skin when he get's called out on his bs.
