Just speculating on a trailer release; not suggesting my theories based on screengrabs and interview blurbs is the end-all be-all. Thought it would be a nice change of pace for conversation instead of continued Snyder comparison or "this looks like the CW" remarks.

I'm pretty confident that the man in black is a clone of superman, and that's why he is disguised.
I also think Lex sends him out ( after capturing superman ) to do things evil as Superman. Hence the publics reaction to superman.
That may even be the clone the public is turning on, and not Superman.
We just dont know, none of us do.

There is Nothing wrong with trying to guess the plot. It could go in one of a thousand different ways.
We have 300' tall kaijus, super dogs, clones, a floating eye thingy, a GL, hawkgirl, and we've seen Superman busting out of a glass cage, which tells me Lex has captured him at some point.

And No telling what else that we haven't seen yet.

My comment wasn’t directed toward anyone in particular on these boards. It’s just a general reaction to how I view most any plot suggestion that I see on the internet. And even then, my comment is probably 80% in jest.

Gunn all but said the teaser trailer was basically the beginning of the movie with the exception of a few scenes. So I am guessing the movie starts with the Kiaju fight. Oddly there has been no mention of Kryptonite and we all know that is Supes weakness. I really believe he was shot out of sky at the with some type of kryptonite weapon in the trailer. That is the only way I think Supes could have been that injured unless you have a Doomsday.

Oddly there has been no mention of Kryptonite and we all know that is Supes weakness. I really believe he was shot out of sky at the with some type of kryptonite weapon in the trailer. That is the only way I think Supes could have been that injured unless you have a Doomsday.

It makes me think Gunn is keeping a major villian and reveal secret.

Yeah ill actually be really disappointed if he's that beaten just by fighting meta humans/ultraman. besides, Gunn keeps talking about wanting to bring in all the fun aspects of Superman's world... Kryptonite is 100% one of those things, and like a lot of Supes world, people label as boring or cheesy.

Magic has to exist. If you're going to have Ra's and Wonder Woman, then magic exists.

I hated the conversations in the MOS2 section about how would they make magic "realistic" and that's when that whole Amazons and the gods are descendants of Supergirl and they're mutant Kryptonians spiel came in.

Because that's obviously more realistic than just Amazons lol, if your main character is an alien I don't think Amazons are a bridge too far.

Jett claimed that magic would be too far-fetched for the average viewer, which is why Thor was referred to as an alien rather than a god in his debut film. Tis typical fanboy logic. Something from the comics will never work or translate to film properly until it actually does.

I saw Sonic 3, before the movie, it played the Superman trailer. I'm pretty sure I heard a few small kids really hyped for it. It's also cool kids still know who Superman is. Playing it before Sonic was smart. I was worried they were only going to attach it to Mufasa.

Anyone else get any crowd reaction, if you happened to see either Mufasa or Sonic?

Also, the movie looked great on the big screen, imo.

I would say this would be a possibility were it not for the little detail that Absolute Power royally sucked. It was horribly received as well. Even a great writer like Mark Waid couldn’t save that absolute turd.

It will be interesting to see if he keeps that bloodsport tie in from the suicide squad.
