That’s all true, but (SPOILERS AHEAD for those who haven’t seen it) the epilogue revealed that their characters eventually got married (as their real-life counterparts did). Given that, you would have thought that they would have at least had ONE scene that hinted at their future circumstances but I think all we got was them saying hello to each other once.

I'm pretty sure the hint of the pairs characters future romance was the smiles they gave each other when the characters meet again in the final 5 minutes of the film.

The AI thing with the eyes is so funny. AI is an abomination but its just fully become a buzzword for when people don't think something looks good. "lol looks like AI" they say looking at this picture where the issue, if anything, is that its too naturalistic with the eyes and not touched up enough in post so David doesn't look like the sexiest member of the family from The Hills Have Eyes.

That shot looks hideous, imo, but its so clearly not AI.
Agreed! The critique is that they didn't get rid of the issue in post... its not that they created the issue in post.

AI as a thing that's used in this way is gonna die a miserable death the same way that NFTs, crypto and other tech bro scams did, judging by recent news anyway

Sooner the better

Crypto has become its own cult. The Orange Dictator just pardoned a guy who was serving two life sentences because his dark web marketplace (Silk Road) was used for drug and sex trafficking. And guess how people paid for all of that? So of course the crypto broligarchs wanted him set free. ****ing disgusting.

I'm only seeing just all over the internet people fighting over this new promo showing Corenswet making a twist while flying...people just seem so toxic.

Nobody is saying it's AI, just that it looks like AI. AI has this thing that makes eyes look kind of dilated, which the shot in the TV spot looks like. I don't necessarily see a difference calling something hideous and AI because the two are basically the same thing, buzzword or not. There's new ways to describe things nowadays. Unfortunately, AI is one of those. Hopefully it will die a good death but it's only going to get smarter and stronger.

In positive news, been looping this Epic Superman Theme version all night at work and being 25x more productive. The adrenaline is raging. Goosebumps.

I loved the flying shot, I was too busy enjoying it and being immersed to notice 'bad CGI'.

I don't know how you Superman fans have put up with the negativity from a certain group, for so long. All over Facebook, for example, each new trailer/photo/update is met with 'Laugh' emojis from that 'group' with the annoying bad-faith takes in the comments, to boot. They're pervasive, everywhere.

I'm sick of it and I've been following this film closely for only a couple months now.

I am beyond fatigued of bad-faith film takes on the internet/social media. YouTube is infested with click-bait channels who peddle made-up 'rumors' that make the current target of choice look bad, and when they turn out to be false, the spin it that their negativity caused enough backlash to change the outcome. They win either way.

The endless stream of manipulated thumbnails with some angry guy whining into a microphone with a headset in a gamer chair has ruined a lot of online film discourse, and comic book film discussions.

I went through these bad-faith takes on YouTube with the latest Indiana Jones and Batman, and that's nothing compared to stuff made about Star Wars and the MCU. It's hard not to let the negative takes on YouTube or Twitter taint the experience of these films, in a way.

Guess it's Superman's turn with a certain fanbase on top, to make it even worse.

People are so dead-set against things from the very jump.

I'm still stoked for this film.
Their minds were made the instant Cavill was replaced.
They refuse to give it a chance and will instantly jump on any minor thing and shout "see" "see", "we told you it would fail".
What a rotten bunch they are.

I honestly feel for Corenswet quite a bit. I'm not going to pretend I know him on a personal level, but it must be horrible to constantly see negativity toward you from people, calling you Temu Superman or Cavill Lite, that's not what Superman looks like, he's goofy looking etc. He's just taking a job and hoping to do it well.

David should care less, honestly, because this type of backlash isn't nothing new givin' the high tense situations the studio (and mainly DC films property) has endured just an INSANELY short time ago. When Gunn took over DC Studios and decided to shake everything up to create the DCU when other things were concurrently in motion, he publicly addressed that he and Peter knew very well how divisive their decision would be. This shouldn't come at a surprise.

Nothing is going to change the behavior of either fanbase because quite frankly, absolutely nobody is innocent in how they treat these entertainment properties. Point blank. The key and the goal (and the ONLY GOAL) is to focus on what can be controlled and hope to achieve a newer fanbase that would happen to be birthed out of the current movie goers and modern audience (Superman will achieve that).

It's downright delusional to think any fanbase will actually get along when fan cannibalism has been going on for quite sometime. Got to focus on blocking out what you deem negative and try not to get emotionally invested in such juvenile online behavior or else it will drive you mad. We've been down this road so many times at this point and it's only going to get worse, so just try to enjoy the journey to July in the best way possible. Easier said than done? Sure..but necessary.

It's all par for the course whenever there's a changing of the guard, so to speak. Cavill himself was the subject of many a meme when he was first cast in the role, as was Affleck, whose casting (as Batman) was so reviled that it led to online petitions to have him ousted from BvS. Other actors in major superhero franchises, such as Heath Ledger, faced considerable backlash as well. It sucks, but I'm sure that David was made aware that there would be a little pushback in the beginning. It'll blow over eventually for the most part. In the meantime, there's a lot of enthusiasm and praise for his upcoming turn as the "Man of Steel" as well, ya know? ;) He'll be alright.

This isn't something new or unique to him alone, just with the Superman character alone both Routh & Cavill had similar levels of negativity prior to their debut film(s) being released.
I wouldn't even call it negativity, it's more endless comparisons to what was good that came before & more talk about what looks 'wrong' than looks right.

Affleck spoke about this on some talk show before about how they're advised for their own mental wellbeing to avoid all forms of social media. Even though you might see 100 nice & positive comments, it's that 1 negative & overly nasty comment that you'll remember.

I always felt Super Bowl trailers or spots were a bit overrated. I like that WB released the trailer in the middle of December when there was a lull and they didn't have to compete for attention but instead had all the attention for themselves. They were able to turn the first trailer into a mini-event.

All of this true. We just live in an age where the small minority is the loudest. The GA could care less that Cavill is gone , and the ones who are hating on this film are going to pay to see it anyway.

Plus, as soon as Corenswet starts making the media rounds to promote the film, he is going to instantly win people over and intrigue folks.

I'm sorry, but he is far more charming and charismatic than Cavill.

I've probably watched the tv spot a dozen times and I'm so hyped to see this on the big screen. It looks so clean.

Also, Super Bowl trailer spots are overrated. Half of the time it's just an extended preview for a longer trailer that's being released online after the spot airs. We just got a pretty lengthy trailer not that long ago, a new tv spot, and soon a (presumably) Krypto-centric preview.

There will be plenty of opportunities to advertise Superman.

On a side note, I do wonder if they'll take from Barbie and do a tie-in with a company as part of the advertising.

Studios have been making company tie-ins since the dawn of time.

I was thinking it was too early for another trailer but a clip can be just as good. I like that idea. The first trailer was great. Let the other guys take attention away from each other with 30 second spots during the Super Bowl.
