I don't see Snyder being involved in anything related to the Trinity. DC Studios in general? Who knows.

.....anyway, did the promo bloopers ever get posted here? I didn't post them because I only saw them on That Site, but I forgot to check Instagram.

Kills me that they were joking all about Kazaam but no one brought up Steel. :weeping:

What are they talking about? It was Shazaam with Sinbad!

Also just a random observation, but the date of that shoot indicated on the slate is Jan. 30th, so that coloring on David's hair is recent. I'm assuming for Supergirl.

Why would anyone want a Dark Knight Returns film? Good God it's bad enough people worship that comic but a film adaptation would be awful and a Snyder version might legit kill Batman on film for a decade.

We basically got a DKR movie with BvS, with Batfleck basically quoting an entire monologue of it during the Superman Batman fight.

We got a really good two-part animated movie adapting it.

What more could they do with it?

I am kind of feeling that the days of DKR/Watchmen nostalgia are past us.

A DKR movie that is a full Verhoeven-esque 80s set satire like the source material would be fantastic. Snyder has already proven he has zero understanding of DKR with BvS - plenty of superficial aesthetic influences but nothing substantive.

Sums up the Snyder films. Remember that cool thing in this comic story? Let's do that without the nuance and context. See Superman's black suit in Justice League.

On another note, I'm glad that someone previously pointed out how David's "S" emblem isn't just a straight light and that you could make out the lower part of the "S" on the bottom right corner. It really makes a big difference for me when looking at the emblem.

You know how you feel about the DCEU and Superman? Multiple that by a billion and you will get how annoying i find DKR and most things associated with Frank Miller. The only satire is how that clown gets mentioned in the same breathe as the greats.

Even as someone who remains a huge fan of Miller’s output up until about the year 2000: I get it!!

Frank Miller IS one of the greats, and the one to save both Daredevil and Batman from the low sales oblivion.

You may not like him, but let's not be revisionist about an important contributor to the comic book medium.

The Dark Knight Returns is an incredible piece of work. So is Batman: Year One. And his Daredevil run, Ronin, Sin City, and many others.

DRK and Alan Moore's Watchmen are seminal stories. Ones that stretched the medium, and broke preconceptions about superhero comics.

It seems like people now hate The Dark Knight Returns by association. Because of what superficial elements Zack Snyder stripped for Batman V Superman (which is NOT a DKR adaptation), or Frank Miller's political leanings and later works, the string of writers badly copying that comic book's writing and characterization out of context for Batman stories, etc.

Context is important for DKR. It IS a satire about the madness of Ronald Reagan's 'Mmurica. And it is a "what if Bruce Wayne ended up as a bitter and sad old man, missing the old days of glory as Batman?"

I don't think Lobo would be right for Zack Snyder. That needs a director who can also handle comedy and humor.

Also not big on him directing a Batman movie.

As I said in another thread, what if he's directing Clayface? A smaller, FX-driven work for hire villain horror movie with the script already taken care of? Could work. Edit: He's not. Watkins is.
Plastic man, booster gold, or deadman seems like his sauce.

I have hated DKR since I read it 20 years ago. It was trash then and worse now and imho ruined Batman.

(Year One was great though)
