Check the link below. Apparently, WB has plans for Batman soon after the movie is released.

I think it would be a MISTAKE for WB's and DCE to try and continue Nolans' Bat universe with a live action TV series.

What they should do, is continue Nolans Bat universe with a darker more adult orientated ANIMATED SERIES, and possibly have HBO pick it up.

Here in the Batman Manip Thread there is a talented guy who posts his Nolan universe animation work and it is absolutely AWESOME!

Would LOVE to see that type of work done in a Nolan Bat Universe Animated Series that is darker, grittier and more adult orientated.

A TV show with Karl Urban as Batman?

On paper it sounds fantastic, but why do I already have a bad taste in my mouth?

Oh, that's right, because friggin' television can't last more than a few episodes before turning a show into a freakin' soap opera, (I'm looking at you Smallville).

At least with the animated universe you don't have to worry about that kind of stuff, but with live action you want to bring in an older audience and keep their attention so it'll begin to suck really quickly.

I smell cheese. Hope this is rumor, or goes the way of "The Graysons."

Agreed!

However, it should be a darker, grittier ANIMATED SERIES based on Nolans' Bat Universe.
One of my dreams has been to have a four-part animated HBO miniseries of The Dark Knight Returns. I've always thought that would be the best way to adapt it (it would have been good for Watchmen too, but alas).

Oh yes, they can do a show like Oz, set in Arkham.

We see Jonathan Crane surrounded by steam in a shower room, but this shower isn't a relaxing one. For some reason, his eyes are filled with fear, glancing hither and thither. Apparently, the coast is clear. He reaches down to pick something up.

Crane cringes as he suddenly hears the voice of The Joker behind him, "Hey there, Ichabod. I see you've dropped the soap."

The rest is too hawt for SHH.

i actually thought a WIRE like series about Gotham from the prospective of GPD or the MCU before the events of Batman Begins, or during it would be cool. But once you start recasting Batman and The Joker for television?... i think that's a bad idea.

A more adult orientated Dark Knight Animated Series based on Nolans Bat films... doesn't need to have cussing and nudity or anything.....but it would definitely be darker, grittier, bloody and violent IMO.

Yeah, I know. I was just being silly. I actually would like to see a more adult themed animated Batman series with content similar to the Under The Red Hood movie.

bring it to AMC. that network has stepped up their game in bringing adult drama into basic cable programing. as posted before, batman doesnt need cussing, nudity, etc. what it does need is a writer who can bring a dark and serious take on the character, and with the writing styles AMC has brought with the likes of mad men, breaking bad etc. i think they could branch out and market to a new demographic with a animated show. hell if they can make zombies work on cable i think they could do wonders for batman.

As long as the production values, writing, and acting are top quality, I wouldn't have a problem with a Batman show.

With that format, we can see a lot more villains, a lot more low key Batman action (i.e. less explosions, more detective work), long-running investigations and mysteries, and ongoing story arcs.

I want Gotham Central on AMC now!!!!!!!!!!!

Producers
Ed Brubaker
Greg Rucka
Christopher Nolan (Godfather "maybe")

Writers
Greg Rucka
Jonah Nolan

Starring
Gary Oldman as Retired Commissioner Gordon (Cameo/Small-Role during the 1st Season)
Dennis Haysbert as Commissioner Atkins
Mehcad Brooks as Crispus Allen
___________ as Renee Montoya
___________ as Harvey Bullock
Kellie Martin as Nora Fields

*The show would barely show Batman like the series did originally in the comics. It will be ER (character structure wise) meets The Wire (any of it) meets CSI (well just detective work) with Batman, nothing could go wrong and would be the best show ever on tv. Plus the occasional "gritty" take on classic characters like Mr. Freeze would blow the tv viewers away and this series could be the "escalation" of the Nolan Trilogy without stepping on it's toes since Batman is barely ever shown and we can assume it's Bale's Batman in presence...

This satisfies average Batman fans, Nolan fans and will bring in new viewers into the Batman world...

He's misunderstood b/c he's an introverted celebrity. He doesn't want to be in the hollywood scene. Probably explains why he gets along with Nolan so well as Nolan appears to be an introvert as well.
He's an introvert who's also a little off-kilter, let's be honest. :funny: Nolan is an introvert but he's definitely more sensible. Bale kind of reminds me of my bf in that interview.

If you caught bits of what my bf says at random points, he sounds like a serious *****ebag who talks trash about everything under the sun. If it exists, he's probably called it/him/her a piece of s*** in all seriousness at least once. But in reality, he's a sweetheart who just says stupid stuff because he's weird and yeah, a paradox.

Guys, it's from **************...do you never learn?

I find it hilarious that no one here trusts Jett but still even bothers reading **************. Little test here, email them a "scoop" like "I work in the promotional department at WB, we were just forwarded plans for the viral marketing for TDKR by 42 Entertainment and it appears that casting announcements will occur via a website in about a months time".

It'll be on the website tomorrow.

Is this some kind of demented joke??? :wow:

If Quinn is actually the female villain then we have been spared from the Bond cliche of being in a love with a bad girl and a good girl.

Harley Quinn played by Naomi Watts (female villain that wont hesitate to kill Batman)
Catwoman played by Rachel Weisz (love-interest that's also a femme-fatale/anti-heroine)

That makes sense but I'm still not convinced.

I talked about it with my co-worker. She explained to me what BFF means. I assumed it meant *Boy Friend Forever*, but it actually means *Best Friends Forever*. That’s why the secretary was laughing hysterically over my bisexual clown comment about the Joker.

Now the whole seduction thing with Bruce Wayne makes more sense, because POISON IVY is Harley Quinn’s best friend and partner-in-crime. Yes it sounds completely crazy, because Nolan likes realistic villains in his Batman movies. Then again Scarecrow used toxins from a flower to induce fear, why can’t Poison Ivy do something similar to seduce men.

Remember Schumacher’s Batman movies had campy versions of Two-Face and Poison Ivy. Then Nolan made a serious version of Two-Face in TDK. Maybe he’s trying to do the same thing for Poison Ivy in TDKR. Like I said before just take it with a grain of salt. I’ll try and find more crazy scoops from the secretary. PEACE!

Is she trying to say that it will be mentioned that The Joker is having psychiatric meetings with Harleen Quinzel in Arkham Asylum as a set up for the next director to bring a new take to Batman and that Pamela Isley will be a secretary at Wayne Enterprises trying to seduce Bruce for her own villainess ends possibly working for Roman Sionis/Black Mask???

Batman 3: Is Full IMAX a Go?

Cinematographer addresses location and IMAX buzz.

November 15, 2010

by Phil Pirrello

Sorry, Batman fans. Christopher Nolan's movie god powers do have limits.

Contrary to recent reports that The Dark Knight Rises will go full IMAX, Nolan's director of photography says that isn't the case.

Wally Pfister says that most of the threequel will be shot in IMAX, according to TheWrap. The DP cited cost and the inability to capture sound as just two of the impediments of an all-IMAX shoot.

Pfister, who has worked with Nolan on each of the director's films since Memento, also brushed off online speculation that Rises would shoot in New Orleans. Pfister also doesn't expect to see the script until early next year.

The Dark Knight Rises will face melt many a fanboy when it opens July 20, 2012.

Maybe or maybe not… I’m not sure at the moment with her "crazy scoop", because she‘s just a secretary working at Warner Bros. Maybe she knows more about the TDKR than most people or maybe she's full of ****. I will talk to her again later this week.

It's time to retire. :sleepy:

I don't think he would somehow, he likes people who go against the grain and do not fit into the usual bs cliches, and BM/BW is exactly that. And it's a little strange that you think he would would hold the fact he was 'rich' against him, considering that, unlike most billionaires, Wayne does not give a crap either way about his fortune. He's not pretentious either, he's an original who finds his own way of doing things. Self absorbed? Only to the extent that he and Bale would have that in common. He seems the type who does a lot of thinking about himself and his life so that he does not lack self-awareness.

It's not strange at all - with respect, I just dont think you got what I was saying.

Regardless of what we, as fans, know of Wayne's true character, his public persona is that of a pretentious rich person, or playboy, if you prefer. As I said, if Bale was to meet such a playboy, do you honestly think that Bale would like him? Sorry, it's certainly subjective and all but I dont. Bale doesnt strike me as the playboy liking kind of a guy.

And Bale's clearly having a dig at pretentious rich people with his reference to the surroundings. Not rich people in general per se, just pretentious ones who like to advertise their wealth through their expensive possessions, clothes and oppulent surroundings. That was the whole point of the locale.

Anyway, what I said was just an aside. A jovial comment. I honestly didnt expect it to be worthy of sparking a meaningful discussion or anything.

Ah ok, you meant the public persona he puts on, I thought you meant the real person, ach, I was just standing up for Batman there, lol, and thinking that Bale would like BW/BM as a person. Ok man, yeah, i was just saying what I thought about both people. Sorry if I came off as too defensive or offended there.

...the occasional "gritty" take on classic characters like Mr. Freeze would blow the tv viewers away fans, Nolan fans and will bring in new viewers into the Batman world...

The characters themselves don't have to be that developed to get their names - look at what the FBI does today, a teenager robs some houses barefoot, and he's the "Barefoot Bandit". Two giggling girls rob one bank and are instantly dubbed the "Barbie Bandits".

Very easy for them to create a character for one episode - because it's done in real life and on TV all the time - and them have Batman bottle them up in an hour.

Actually would prefer it was more like "Miami Vice" was in the early days, but one thing is for sure - you don't want to be protected by Batman like Crockett and Tubbs protected their charges. Everyone who was ever associated with them (except for main characters) in any episode died before the episode ended. If they showed up at my house and said they were there to protect me I would run like hell.

No worries dude - we were on the same page afterall.
