It seems Rachel Weisz has signed on to be in film called Page 8 due to start filming in JANUARY.

Does this effectively eliminate Weisz from contention to be cast in TDKR which starts filming in April? Click on the link below:

i dunno, this description of this thing sounds like a spy suspense movie, it might have a long shoot. but her role could also be in the can in a couple of weeks. who knows

It's not impossible. Morgan Freeman worked on The Dark Knight and Wanted at the same time.

Now granted, they were both filming in Chicago at the same time, but he was able to schedule time going back and forth.

If Nolan is shooting something in England with Bale and the script doesn't call for Weisz then she could be off doing this other film.

Depends on the size of the role, Morgan didnt really have a lot of face time in TDK, so it wasnt like he had to commit to 3 months of shooting. If the female lead's role is larger(which it probably will be) thats gonna be a lot harder to pull off than what Morgan did.

Good point, considering she's playing a spy in Page 8, obviously a physically demanding role. Also, it's a BBC production, not a huge production.

I think Marion Cotillard is a fantastic actress. She was great in La Vie En Rose. However, when she does English speaking roles, I think her performance suffers a little bit because of her broken English. Honestly, there were times when I had a difficult time understanding her dialogue in Inception.

Imagine her as Selina Kyle, and then imagine Batman meeting up with her as Catwoman, and YOU try and not instantly realize that Selina is Catwoman based on her thick accent. Honestly, her accent would give her away within the first words that came out of her mouth. Unless she altered her Catwoman voice in the same way Christian Bale adopted the growly Batman voice, any chance of maintaining a dual identity would just evaporate the moment she opened her mouth.

Again, I think she's a great actress, but she's much better when speaking in her native dialect. When she does English speaking roles, her performance immediately suffers as a consequence.

Alright I have some crazy news for everyone!!! So please take it with a grain of salt. She’s not a reporter… I repeat she’s NOT a reporter, but a freaking secretary working at WB. She told me that the female villain is HARLEY QUINN. I asked her how is it possible without the Joker. Then she goes on saying something about her BFF seducing Bruce Wayne. Then I told her she‘s full of ****, because the Joker is not a freaky bisexual clown. Afterward she was laughing hysterically. GO FIGURE!!!

I don't want her for Catwoman but for Talia. Since Henri Ducard is supposed to be french, her accent would not be a problem.

If Quinn is actually the female villain then we have been spared from the Bond cliche of being in a love with a bad girl and a good girl.

Harley Quinn played by Naomi Watts (female villain that wont hesitate to kill Batman)
Catwoman played by Rachel Weisz (love-interest that's also a femme-fatale/anti-heroine)

That makes sense but I'm still not convinced.

Because I prefer the Joker to be alone. I like to think of the Joker as someone even the greatest freaks of Gotham want to stay clear from, as shown in the recent Batman: Under the Red Hood. The Joker is way too unpredictable and bat-s**t insane to let someone like Harley tag along with him for so long. Frankly, I'm surprised, given the Joker's characterization, that he doesn't outright kill her for some silly screw up or just because he doesn't like the way she's dressed or the shade of her makeup or some other trivial reason like that. Harley is the one thing that really drags Hamil's Joker from TAS for me. And that episode in which she upstages Batman's greatest villain? Ugh, I felt like punching Timm and Dini in the face for that.
