The Dark Knight The Dark Knight@ Showest 3/13/08

They are not showing the entire film - probably just some selected scenes from the film and a new trailer more than likely.

A look at The Dark Knight just means an extended preview.

Very true.

I wonder where they'll have the world premiere...(apologies if this is already known by everyone).

I haven't heard. Is it Chicago?

I was wondering that myself...

Anyway if it's true we're gonna get something new to discuss !:woot:

I doubt they will be showing the movie. I think just the trailer and probably an extended clip like they did for Spider-Man 2/3.

I've been to Showest 3 times. Each year the studios are pushing their comic movies harder and harder. My brother saw 04 Punisher several months early there, and I got to see an extended Superman Returns trailer the year before last.

Showest is a very odd thing- its mostly made up of theater owner/manager types who really dont even like movies (or at least arent big fans who geek out over anything). There is some great theater type of food for sampling on the trade floor and if you're lucky they'll debut a trailer or poster for those in attendence. The Bally's/Paris hotels are loaded with celebs for those 3 days because everyone is there accepting an award, promoting a movie, or just popping up as a nice surprise. Jessica Alba and Ioan Grufford posed for a couple pics with me and my brother, which was nice.

Chances are they'll be showing an extended reel of footage introduced by someone from the cast/crew/studio.... there's really no way to know for sure. A couple years ago Singer was supposed to be on hand to intro SR footage but he was 'sick', so Alan Horn did it instead. And everyone is in the dark until they get their itinerary on the first day of the show. Iron Man will certainly have a big presence this year since Robert Downey Jr. is their male star of the year (2 years ago I saw Brandon Routh win male star of tommorow). Its certainly unpredictable, i wouldnt be surprised if they show a lot or even all of the movie.

^Thanks, I remember you reporting on SR.

I'd go there, but I'm actually leaving for Vegas this Friday, and I won't be able to go back there that early again. I'll probably stop by the Oscars in L.A. on Sunday......

nice to know......but the whole movie so early....spoilers of the most anticipated movie of 2008 will be spread quickly !!!!

And yeah I checked the prices...damn o.O over $800.
Damn indeed. I'm close enough to Las Vegas to drive there, but $800 to maaaaaybe see TDK early? Hellllls no.

That's pretty cool.

They MIGHT have the sound done for the whole movie by then. My friend worked on "Meet the Spartans" (don't hold it against him, he can't choose his projects) and the movie was released 4 months after they did the sound mixing for it.

But isn't showing unfinished work something that Nolan doesn't like to do? I doubt he'd show the entire movie 3 months before release, since it probably won't be finished. It's probably an extended preview or a panel or something of that sort.

I guess it's gonna be as frustrating as the WW footage anyway......awesome but EY YOU CAN'T SEE IT AhAHAHAHAHAHahhhahAHHAHAHAHAHHHAahahhAHHAHhahhaha!!!!!!!!!:o :o :woot: :woot:

Its not very likely they'll show the whole film but its possible. I know that know one will know for sure until they actually are seated in the theater, thats how Showest is the program will just say "Warner Brothers Screening"- Then all the sudden Christopher Nolan comes out on stage and you know you got really lucky.

my dream !:cwink:

well if its the whole movie maybe we will get a bootleg!!!! lolol

I'd rather my first time be in a theater than at home with crappy quality.

Agreed!

My first time seeing this film will be on Imax, then any other views will be on a regular theatre.
