That's great. I can see now how Harvey's story is a backbone to the movie.

I wonder will Rachel ever get very worried for Harvey at some point in the movie, and go to Bruce for help. That'd be cool, now that she knows his secret, lets use it.

My theory:

Terminator: Salvation is a Warner Bros. film. He's doing T4 as his third WB film instead of Batman 3. I'm beginning to think that with all of the Justice League nonsense and then with Ledger's death, Bale might have lost his zeal for the character. I don't know if I can entirely blame him...being in that batsuit during last Summer's heatwave had to be Hell, and now with his peer Ledger dying, I can't see how he would want to come back for another film.

I certainly hope I'm wrong, and Nolan/Bale will come back to wrap up their epic trilogy.

This is all conjecture on my part, but from what I can see that's how it looks.

I just don't see why Bale would sign up to do an action franchise by a director like McG for anything other than to fulfill some sort of contractual obligation.

How can you possibly come up with that whole diatribe of yours from that interview? If anything, he sounded protective of his place in this Bat-franchise referring to it as "...our world" in reference to him, Nolan, and those involved in it.

Everything else I'm sure you know about, but I'm trying to let you know I'm not just pulling this theory out of my ass.

Here's the timeline:

Bale signs for a 3 picture contract with the possibility that one of those is an ensemble film, with Warner Bros.

Rumors of a WB Justice League movie with Batman start last Fall.

Bale voices his opinions that he doesn't want the film to tarnish the continuity of Nolan's trilogy.

Bale options for a new Terminator film helmed by Warner Bros.

Justice League fades into a maelstrom of development, with a writer's strike, a bad cast, and no public demand or support.

Heath Ledger dies in January.

Two weeks after Heath Ledger dies, Bale is confirmed for a part in the new Terminator film.


This whole theory is based on events that have already happened, and his lack of enthusiasm in the interview only reminded me of it. Essentially, there's a good possibility that this new Terminator film is more political for Bale.

Think about it:
Bale wants out of Batman, WB tells him that they'll let him get out of Batman but only if he does Terminator instead. Bale agrees, and here we are now.

Also consider the fact that Bale is an artist moreso than a movie star, and most of the films he does aren't blockbuster material. When you consider the contract, it makes total sense. Why else would he do a sci-fi action film helmed by the direction of Charlie's Angels?
