The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - - Part 11

Just bring back Nora. She was the best thing added to this show in years.

This ^^ Or just bring back Jessie Quick.

Don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to see Bart Allen/Impulse appear on the show at some point.

However...

I'm very curious to see how much longer The Flash can survive on this network with more TV series from Arrowverse either ending or getting canceled. The ratings for Batwoman continue to decline every week and who knows how Legends of Tomorrow will fair once it returns.

Only 1 has been canceled, 2 have ended of their own accord, that's natural. I think its more of a question how much longer can the E1 Arrowverse survive.

I think Batwoman will last until Season 4 then get cancelled
Legends will likely end by Season 8
The Flash (if Grant signs on) will likely go until Season 10
Painkiller spin off probably wont get picked up
Naomi may or may not be set in the Arrowverse

I think within the next 3 years the Arrowverse will be down to just 2 shows.

I agree that Painkiller is unlikely to get picked up, and honestly, I couldn't care for it.

I also agree with you that both Batwoman and Legends are on borrowed time with only the Flash having potential.

The thing with the Flash though, if WB really wanted too, they could go on with a different speedster; Wally or Bart specifically. Unlike Arrow, Supergirl or Batwoman there's more than just one Flash.

In any case, DC has an ample number of characters to pick up should the CW care for an additional show. Wasn't there rumours of a Donna Troy series in development? That would be at least three shows, cause Superman isn't going anywhere..

Black Lightning is barely watchable these days so why have a Painkiller series on top of that? His arc has been boring anyway.

Flash doesn't feel like it could continue running. They already seem to be scraping the barrel of enemies.

That Wonder Girl (it was Yara Flor) show is dead:
The CW is not moving forward with 'Wonder Girl' series

I think Flash and S&L may end up being the last two standing. With HBO Max now in the picture, Warner Media is probably directing their brand IP shows there instead of CW. The new era of DC on TV (with budgets!) is upon us. I just wish S&L had been developed a year later so that it would be on that train too. Not that I’m remotely unhappy with it or anything, but if it looks this good on CW, imagine if it had been developed on HBO Max (plus no mid-season hiatuses like the one we’re currently in :argh: ).

I know plenty of people that wont watch Superman & Lois because of how Arrow & The Flash started out & dont blame them.
It'll be Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe all over again. :(

You're probably right @flickchick85 , although I was under the impression the network was looking to renew Gustin's contract, so the CW at least wants to keep the Flash show going, and I can't help but think it would fail without supporting shows.

As you've stated, the Flash is in a slow burn, and they'd benefit greatly from having additional characters to boost them up. It's a shame really.

If the HBO deal never went through, it's a shame the CW couldn't (or wouldn't) green-light a small screen Justice League series, similar to Legends, just with actual Legends and less mockery.

Im hoping (likely wont happen) that with the HBOM/CW deal that they stop moving all their shows to Vancouver. Start using Georgia and Cali more.

Georgia is not a viable option, at the moment.

Thank god Tom is leaving so we dont have to worry about anymore Wells. I like him but hate any Wells.

Carlos has been leaving for the past 2 years so doesnt feel like a shocker, just finally a confirmation lol. He'll be missed but they definitely dont know what to do with Cisco. Whines about being a meta human and how he has to save people only to build energy gauntlets so he can go out and save people.

They've been back to and exhausted these wells too many times that they've run dry.

Yeah, can't say this news doesn't shock me. I haven't really been following the show this season at all due to lacking weekly interest. Be interesting to see if next season is the last. I wonder if they'll do a shortened season like Arrow's final season or not. Would be nice to have lesser episodes and the increase the budget for each to end on a high note.
