The Flash The Flash General Discussion and Speculation Thread - - Part 11

.... i'll be honest... not really sure what the **** i am watching. so nora is bad... the kids are like the kids from captain planet? then... it happens... and like...

what the **** is going on. i mean i know i smoke good weed and all but this **** is on some other level

This series ran out of steam after Season 3, it tried to revive in Season 4 but making Iris the central team leader was a mistake, Season 5 had the horrible villain and basically nerf Cisco, Season 6 went overboard with teasing Barry's death at the hand of Crisis and went downhill with Mirror Mistress and the first half of Season 7 had just been an utter mess of confusion and overwhelming drama.

I am trying to stay loyal to the character the Flash but the show should have ended. The storyline in the season is weak covid or not it would have been meh. They could have made Iris important without making her seem more important than Barry.

It is not even a super hero show with action, just a lot of talking down and it has been that way the past 3 seasons.

I don't even watch the crossovers because I only watch Flash in the CW/DC universe.

There's no more gas in the tank. The show's run its course

I tuned out of the Flash awhile ago.

I used to comment on the series quite a bit through season 1 and 2 , but since then, I pretty much faded from it and got out of the habit of watching it.

I out and out skipped the past two seasons .

I just dont understand why they havent even done a Rouges team up as the main big bad. So many stories they could do but we just keep getting these watered down half thought stories.

No Captain cold, the Rogue only work with Cold in the comics. Also who's left they did nothing with Captain Bomerang (made him a Green Arrow villain who dies) Mirror Master is supposed dead, Weather Wizard has disappeared, the Trickster is missing or retired, pipe piper is reformed, Blackout is dead, Heat wave is a semi hero with the Legends, Godd is reformed etc...

They can work with whoever you throw together and make work. Just one version is more popular.

Maybe they'll have Mirror Mistress and Cicada team up as the season 8 villains for double the fun and double the interest.

A trip down memory lane...

Like others have said before me, the producers screwed up BIG TIME by allowing Captain Cold and Heatwave to be shipped off onto Legends. I would gladly take the Rogues as the main villains for any given season over the likes of Savitar, Cicada, and Mirror Mistress.

Come to think of it, the producers have screwed up every major villain and storyline that could have been potentially great if adapted properly.
  • Iris being Barry's foster sister.
  • Flashpoint being treated as a mini two-episode event with no real stakes.
  • Savitar being revealed to be a disgruntled time remnant.
  • Introducing too many (useless) versions of Harrison Wells.
  • Mirror Mistress and Grodd being reformed.
  • The Flash War was just one big convoluted mess.
  • Bart Allen and XS being Barry and Iris's children instead of grandchildren.
Normally, a show that's gone on for seven seasons would have found its second breath by now (e.g. Arrow Season 5). Instead, this show has only gotten worse since Season 3.

Hell, I'm willing to bet that Barry will beat Godspeed this season with the power of "love" again.

Flashpoint should've been a whole season while the likes of Mirror Mistress, Cicada or the Speed Force should've only been a two-parter at most. Instead they did it the other way round.

They also need to get Huey Lewis as a villain they can defeat with the power of love.

The writing on this show has just become lazy. It seems like they knock out a script in an hour and spend the rest of the day watching actual entertaining pop culture that Cisco can reference at some point.

I'm not at all surprised to see people mocking the show for how repetitive, tedious and predictable it has become.

The whole motivational pep talk thing all the characters do has got way out of hand.
Every episode has at least one character do this at some point and it is boring.

Roll on Season 8 I say. Let's wrap this show up and focus our efforts on the shows with writing teams that have a clue - like Superman & Lois.

Flash & Legends have done their time. I gave up on Batwoman due to that talentless actress they hired for Season One, though I'm not seeing a long future for that show, and I'll honestly be amazed if that Painkiller series gets green lit.

As it stands, Stargirl and Superman will be the only two shows left - and then the GL show but I'm not sure if that'll be connected.

Painkiller wasnt picked up. We are right back to where we were Pre-COIE.

4 Arrowverse shows
2 shows not set on Arrowverse Earth

I'm glad Painkiller wasn't picked up. He was a boring character. I gave up on Black Lightning and don't seem to have returned to Batwoman either.

Just as long as they don't make him wear a hot pink mask!

I'm sorry - not sorry to say, but I'm glad it wasn't. Painkiller would've been a nothing show. If they couldn't make Black Lightening durable, what makes anyone think they'd have had more success with Painkiller? Absurd!

I make it 5 and 1...
  • Flash
  • Supergirl
  • Legends
  • Batwoman
  • Superman
  • Stargirl
In any case, Supergirl is on it's last run, and Flash will be done after it's next run. I probably think and say this every year, but I'll be amazed if Legends gets renewed for Season 8 (I think it's already been renewed for Season 7 hasn't it? - I can only ponder what trash they've written up for it's next season).

It (seems) more likely than anything that Legends will be the next show to get canned in any case; Stargirl is new and has so much potential, Superman is new, has the potential and (for an Earth-1 show) has a pretty solid writing team. I haven't watched Batwoman, but it must be doing something right.

I just wonder whether they're going to phase these shows out if/when, or whether they're going to suddenly throw in and introduce new ones. I mean, at this point, what DC characters could be used for a CW show that people would actually tune in and watch?

Maybe if they called it Painkiller Jane it could've been picked up. :o

I’m a little concerned with Stargirl moving to CW, mostly because these shows seem to benefit from shorter seasons. I’m really hoping that the Flash pulls itself together for a great second half of season 7, but I know that’s probably not realistic.

Supergirl is over after this season. No reason to count it
Then I make it 4 and 1...
  • Flash
  • Legends
  • Batwoman
  • Superman
  • Stargirl
What's the other non Arrowverse show you were referring too?
