Is it remotely possible that Zoom is just Zoom, and not secretly an existing character? It's certainly gonna be less fun that way, but his mystery is missing alot of oomph from RF's mystery in S1.

I kind of hope they go that route, I think he'd lose something if who he was before being Zoom was of any importance.

To me it's being set up to be someone known but completely unexpected. Which is my my guess is Earth 2 Joe West.

I am kinda glad they are getting rid of Barry's girlfriend Patty because you already know that he is going to end up with Iris and Wally West i thought was Iris' nephew not her brother. I wonder how he is going to become the Flash if he is going to become the Flash.

I was hoping that Zoom was going to be Zoloman Hunter who can slow down time to make him seem fast but it doesn't seem like that is who he is. For a second i thought the Turtle was Hunter Zoloman but it wasnt.

I am thinking that it is going to be Edward Clariss and is in the same universe as Jay Garrick

If Wally becomes the Flash I imagine it'd be a series finale type of deal, or at the very least a fair number of seasons from now. I would love it if the show's final season ended with Barry sacrificing himself to save the world and the final line being "My name is Wally West, and I am the fastest man alive"

Let's have Barry live.

You can't get the most out of having Wally West on the show if Barry doesn't go down, Barry's death is a huge moment and would carry a lot of weight. I think Barry's death is the way the series should end. I'm also not saying "Kill him now!", this would be several seasons down the road, ideally the final season.

I do like the idea Killer.

And it's not as if it's not from the comics either.

On the matter of "But Iris is destined", remember, Ollie's canon love interest is the Black Canary. They've pretty much ditched that over on Arrow, much as some fans seem to want Felicity to die. Its hardly inconceivable that they'd break from canon on Flash, too. I mean, yes, future newspaper suggesting otherwise. . . but said future newspaper was placed into the plot before they got feedback about how little everyone liked Barry/Iris. Not like they can't changed the future amidst the mess of time and dimensional travel.

Well I've always thought of things this way. The timeline that the original Future Flash comes from is like everything that happened in the comics before the New 52 Reboot; basically, where Barry and Iris were married like they were in the comics and never being raised as Foster Siblings.

However, as a result of time traveling, things changed in the timelines creating a new and altered one like how the New 52 came about. In the New 52, Barry isn't married to Iris. He got involved with Patty who wasn't even a major love interest to him in the Pre New 52 era.

They can ultimately do what they want and the alternate timelines give them that. That said, I'm still not all that confident that the showrunners don't want or ultimately don't plan for Barry to end up with Iris anyway even given the alternate timelines.

Ultimately, I don't think its set in stone, and the audience reaction to her character during the first season certainly makes it harder to get them together at this point. That said, I don't think its off the table like some fans seem to think. They've certainly gone through alot to basically rewrite the character and try to make her more likable and appealing. Yes, I know there are fans who don't think the character has changed, but I do.

I guess the question is whether or not they're doing it to make her a more acceptable love interest to Barry so that if or when they do get together, its easier to swallow, or whether they just plan on having the two characters remain friends with other potential love interests in the mix for both of them ala Oliver and Laurel.

I just saw an international spot for "The Return of the Reverse Flash" episode, and it reveals...

That Patty isn't gone as we all thought. Apparently she somehow finds out from someone (not mentioned who or what) that Barry is the Flash.

She confronts him and tells him that if he admits to her that she's the Flash then she'll stay in Central City.

So judging by the trailer I wish I hadn't seen. This is your last chance to not be spoiled[BLACKOUT]Patty figures out Barry is The Flash. Well at least they didn't make her clueless. But still get the feeling she's done after next episode and it makes her leaving somewhat more logical when Barry won't admit it at least more than her just up and leaving. Yet he was going to tell her last episode so now i'm wondering if she gets killed off. [/BLACKOUT].

I just saw the trailer and if that is indeed for next week's episode, then it just seems like they're going to have a lot thrown into it.

Since the episode description and preview don't really hint at this, I almost wonder if there's a mix up and that's actually spoiling the episode in 2 weeks.

Patty's been a great addition to the show and anyone who disagrees is a garbage person. :o

I doubt this will happen should Barry stay a fan fav as the Flash (though, maybe in the last episode of the whole serious, though they would probably think that this would be too much of a downer for most viewers). I'm not even sure they will allow Wally to be Kid Flash or another Flash, they'll probably give him some 'new' identity on his own.

I guess Wally will probably become a superhero of his own, like they made him into Iris' brother instead of her nephew.
