New Season Synopses for Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow
Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom’s game and uncovers the evil speedster’s true goal: to destroy all Earths in the multiverse. In the race of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.

I wasn't a fan of a when an Idea came up on Buffy but when I came out I pretty much fell in love with it. We will have to see how they present it.
 
Maybe we will get some kickass songs that we listen to time and time again. :)

The thing with standard musicals is that the characters are using songs, music, and dance moves to express their emotions. And that's generally the only way you get to see the deeper emotions from characters in musicals.

Where as with the Buffy musical episode, you'd gotten to know and care for the characters over the previous 5 years. So you already knew their motivations, drives, and emotional states pretty well. The musical aspect was able to play of this really well by making each song PERFECT for the characters at that time in their lives.

I hate normal musicals because I hate the way they convey the emotions and drives through songs. But the Buffy episode, because of the history of the characters already being there, it really works well for me

Flash only being on it's third series and Supergirl on it's second might not have enough of a build up, but I'll watch it, because I like Flash.
 
I wonder how they'll explain the musical element. There are music-themed villains in the DC Universe, right? We've seen the Pied Piper already, so I don't think it'll be him who gets everyone to break out into song (but maybe he'll appear anyway.

Yeah, maybe it will be the Fiddler who causes the musical element. He's a music-themed villain from the Flash comics who hasn't been used yet on the show.

I really hope so, I don't want those two to be mixed up. I like the tv show but I have much higher expectations for the movies, and having TV-Flash turn up in the movies... yeah, no thank you. Dx
 
I'm no fan of musicals, but I think some of you are being kinda dramatic about the show having a musical episode.
 
Yeah you are. especially if this Whedon/NPH rumor is true.

Musical episode is gonna be so cornball. I'm actually interested to see it still.
 
We all know it's going to be Music Meister in the musical crossover... who will hopefully be played by NPH (he voiced him in Batman: Brave and the Bold. It would be a nice easter egg).

Or possibly Flashpoint makes the Pied Piper more like his musical hypnosis source character. We've already got an actor for that character.
