I'd love to see a scene where he's caught off guard and "summons" the pieces of his armor as he fights them off, ie. socking a baddie with an armored up fist, followed by a jet blast from his boot, etc. as the suit flies onto him piece by piece till he's fully geared up.

That would be really awesome to see! It reminds me of the concept art released with him surrounded by those guys with guns, and some of his armor flying to him I think it was, so I could see something like that happening.

Thor has been given the shaft in terms of flight, but I'm more concerned with him getting bona-fide strength feats.

As anyone could tell, I'm a man who really enjoys awesome superhero strength feats in comic book movies.

TBH, All we really ever see of Thor flying is him taking off and him landing.

Kinda reminds me of the George Reeves Superman show.

but maria hill wasn't a skrull in the books.... for the role she played she was exactly like she should have been in the comics (though, i did picture maria to be a bit more butch so to speak.)

that being said.. they don't need her whole character history in one film either. I think it's very plausible that in a future movie she may be handed shield.

I didn't say she was. I meant that was one of the storylines she was involved in. I meant it to help show how Chen Lu could be included without developing the Radioactive Man side of things like how Maria Hill was in Avengers but they didn't go after any story she was involved in (though she was still in character by being critical of Nick Fury).

The rumormill has long had Chen Lu listed as a hero, not a villain. He's supposed to help Iron Man defeat Mandarin. (Which is odd, canonically, since Chen Lu used to work for the Mandarin in the comics.)

Though he is a lesser known villain, one who has been on the good guys side for a while now. Perhaps if he does appear it's just more in keeping with his current status in the comics.

After the Hammer drones in IM2 those Stark drones feel kind of repetitive. Of course with the right execution it might be totally different. I'll wait for the trailer before I start worrying about stuff like that.
Speaking of trailers: The first teaser for Iron Man hit the web early September 2007. Does anybody know if there are similar plans vor IM3? (RIM are you reading this?)

Let's hope so. Might be wishful thinking, but I think Marvel(and their directors) will definitely step it up after The Avengers.

Hell yeah dude, I had the same reaction except I didn't holler out loud.

Iron Man's new armor sounds super badass, the first two IM films were mediocre in terms of action so I'm glad to hear this.

Guess I got a little too excited, lol! Could IM3 be the first IM film with unquestionably badass action scenes? All we can do at this point is hope.

THAT would be awesome. If they don't have a scene like that in the movie I'll be a bit disappointed.

i am guessin sometime around October, since Avengers first trailer came out last year october, but it will most likely be December

You're forgetting that our REAL first tease of actual Avengers footage came at the end of Captain America last JULY!

So, waiting this long Iron Man 3 feels like forever especially when everyone with the money to go to Cons and such has gotten to see it.

It needs to be released September 17 with the British dvd release.

But, just think, this is the last time we'll be without a trailer for an upcoming Marvel movie until GotG comes out (and even then they might attach an Avengers 2 teaser to the the end of Guardians)

Marvel isn't stupid. Which is exactly why I'm taking this rumor with a grain of salt. There were only about a dozen Drones give or take, so 40 Iron Man suits will be too much. I don't want to see a bunch of suits fighting a bunch of suits. I want to see Iron Man go one on one with Mandarin.

now that u mention it, it does sound a bit stretched when viewing 40 IM suits in battle...
like how are they gonna show each IM fighting, while at the same time keep the focus on Stark?...

I think the rumour was made up from some 12 year old who thinks the bigger the better. I could see this happening if Michael Bay directed the movie but no he's not thankfully, hopefully Shane Black has better judgement than 90% internet.

Except Latino Review does quite often get things right and it was said before somewhere that Stark would have at least 40 armours made in the film.

There's not gonna be much of a comparison there, nothing we've seen from MS suggests that Thor is gonna suddenly get better flight scenes.

we don't know for sure yet if guardians is the last phase 2 film before avengers 2 do we?

i think 40 suits could be quite awesome actually.. but, that also makes me think pepper and even happy may end up with one .. which.. eh, if it's an end sequence of possibly the last solo ironman film with RDJ (this film clearly has "bookend/chapter end" feel to it). it actually seems quite fitting. and something extra extravagant tony would do to lay a smack down on a villain.

Just because they have a possible fight scene with 40 suits does not mean Stark won't go up against Mandarin one-on-one.
