Why is Emma Watson commenting on Trank anyway? Doesn't she have any new movies to star in after Harry Potter?

This just seems to show a complete lack of confidence in Trank. Early in the process, people were concerned that this would be a found-footage film, but I didn't buy it.
"He may have used that shtick in Chronicle, but he's a talented young director. He can certainly do other types of films. He's not a one-trick pony," I said in one form or another.
It seems Fox thinks he's a one-trick pony.

Kidding aside, what I find interesting is that Emma Watts is the only one to have indicated that Trank has any real enthusiasm for taking the director's chair on this film. A "franchise he's loved his whole life"? Really?? I think she's got things mixed up with Star Wars - which Trank quite publicly gushed about - while he's said virtually zilch about the Fantastic Four - sequestered away in a warehouse somewhere in Baton Rouge denied access to social media.

I'm not hating on Trank being picked as the director of this flick BUT for sure he'll get the reinvention of himself and he'll avenge (No pun intended) his ideas via THE FORCE!
Fox is not 100% confident in his abilities as a director BUT sure as hell Lucasfilm / Disney are.
I know to a lot of us this doesn't seem like our Fantastic Four. But you never know. This movie might surprise us.
Just focus on the things we've heard, that you like, like...erm...I've heard a lot of things I don't like up to this point.

t:I assume Fox was going to let the FF revert in 2012, but Avengers was a bigger hit than they expected.

Anyone up for a protest picket?I can see a bunch of us parading in front of the cinema wearing an FF t shirt and a paper bag over our heads.![]()

wow the news from today is reaaaally disappointing. this would be in such better hands at Marvel... god.... it'd be so awesome to see the F4, Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus in the MCU :/
I don't understand FOX thinking at all. I think a better fit for the X-universe would be Alpha Flight.
They don't seem to have it. Recent evidence points to Marvel Studios having Alpha Flight. They may even be using it at some point, as AoS already threw in a Department H reference.

With Marvel exploring the Cosmic side of things, Galactus and SS are begging ot be added...
But as a universal threat to all heroes, and Thanos needs to have someone who can challenge him for supremacy, there can only be DOOM!!! A proper MCU Doom would wipe the memory of EVERY villain thus far....
Doom standing atop the castle turrets in Latveria...a Doom demanding immediate surrender from the delegates of the United Nations...crushing the heroes attempts at stopping him...intellectual dialogue from Stark/Banner/Richards...Thanos with the Gauntlet and Doom manages to catch him offguard and steals it for himself, creating a Universe Under Doom!
Because they can't keep the rights if it is called Chronicle II. The only reason this project has ever existed is because they lose the rights if they don't do it. So like I said many months ago, this movie is Roger Corman's Fantastic Four (or Dragonball Evolution) all over again. Just a cheap piece of crap that will allow them to keep the rights. Fox doesn't care if it is good or even really make a profit. They just want to keep the rights and spend as little money as possible doing it.
See, that's why Dr. Doom would be such an asset to the MCU. Most antagonists stick to their own hero and only occasionally interact with others; but Doom, he's a Fantastic Four villain, and a Dr. Strange villain, and an Iron Man villain, and an Avengers villain, sometimes a hero, and often an universal threat... he's such a versatile character, and seeing him interact with the rest of the universe, that would be the greatest benefit of having the FF rights back.
This makes me want to see it even less. I guess they want me to "find footage" of the entire movie online rather than supporting this in the theaters or by Blu Ray/DVD. I only do this with movies I am almost positive I won't like, so I one, don't support the movie, and two, have legitimate facts and arguments as to why the movie was bad. If I do somehow enjoy the movie I will go support it in the theaters, but as of right now I highly doubt that scenario is likely.
