Take this with a pound of salt as you would any message board whispering a, but someone over on the Bleeding Cool boards swears that he was involved with the production and knows some details about the movie. He says that in the film the Fantastic Four aren't scientists, but instead they win a reality TV show to go into space, and when they return home they have a documentary crew following them around 24/7. Normally I'd just dismiss this as utter nonsense, but based on everything else we've heard about the film this now sounds eerily credible.

I have to say that it would take a lot to convince me that the 'reality tv' rumour is true. As much of a train wreck as this movie appears to be I still have trouble believing they could be that stupid.
That's what could've been said before about Doom being an internet blogger and anti-social programmer. Could Fox actually be that stupid to make him that?
I'm surprisingly not finding the reality tv thing to be that far fetched. It fits with everything we know so far.

PA-LEASE BE TRUE!
Perhaps that's why they wear "containment suits" at one point since, ya know, gonna be in space and all. And it's conceivable that Fox hired Trank to do something similar to Chronicle in as not so much "found footage" but a 24/7 reality taping.
Wow, if this is true, stands a good chance we'll see a Marvel F4 one day.
EDIT: perhaps Doomblogger is jealous of their new found fame and finds a way to get "powers" too. Or maybe he just writes terrible things about them and the climax is a courtroom "battle" for liability damages and not a physical showdown. Oh the possibilities with this new, grounded direction!
