Can you imagine the affect AOU could have on Antman if there are direct ties leading into that film? The Pym character may be mentioned in AOU and the events of that film may have some impact on Antman. That could be a huge boost. Antman could very well be successful in August just like GOTG.

I'm sure it will be successful. I doubt it will be $700 million worldwide with immense critical acclaim successful.... But it'll definitely be a modest hit at the worst.

Yeah I can, that's why I'm not all that worried abut Antman's success. I'll be there with the kids the weekend of it's release and a second time on the Weekend that Fox releases that reboot.

Did the same thing with Godzilla when DOFP came out.

Oh, we've got it all wrong, apparently.

The series writer urged on twitter that fans misinterpreted these panels. He's really looking forward to the film and wanted to express his enthusiasm about it by simulating the death of the actors that are starring in it...

Yeah....exactly.

What better way to show your support for that film. How could we possibly think otherwise.

I'm sure he'll be blowing up Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas real soon.

To be fair, if marvel said anything but put a positive spin on this (or the fantastic four cancellation) FOX and the actors would have lawyers so far up Disney's bum...

people forget FOX could sue Disney/Marvel for "sabotaging" their property. But if they have no proof and Marvel spins everything and says "no no no that's not our intent" then FOX really has no valid proof..

We know what marvel is up to. Dont think just because they say that's not what they're doing, that they're being truthful. they just simply cant say "yup it's them" they'd be ripped apart for it

So weird that is... I thought it was funnier before seeing his comments and I know that is bad.

Haha ya I'm sure he did that cuz he can't wait for this movie to come out

Nothing wrong with finding a completely fictitious parody funny, but let's not sink to the level of wishing real violence on those attached to the production. I know what's been said is sarcasm, but not everyone will take it that way. I have no respect for this film, but there are better ways to show your displeasure. By all means rant and poke fun. No need to make the fans of the Fantastic Four look like the bad guys in this mess, though.

Truth.

Could they actually be sued for that? I doubt you could say they were attempting to "sabotage" the production through meaningless jabs in fictional stories. Not to mention the fact that Marvel/Disney have access to the best lawyers on the planet.

oh sure, i think they could very easily. FOX bought the product (the movie rights) off of Marvel, if Marvel isn't wanting FOX to keep the rights (Which they are contractually obligated to have and do with as they please) and decides they want to sway opinions and do everything they can to ensure FOX doesn't have an audience.. than yeah, FOX could sue saying they were damaging their product/franchise in a move to force them to give up the rights.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if FOX tries to sue for that anyway.

But yeah, you will never never ever see marvel admit that they are doing things in spite of FOX because they really could have legal troubles over it. Not to mention it could also be spun into very bad PR

Interesting. I don't know enough about the law to be able to make a comment on any of this, but I still think that Disney is more or less untouchable in a lot of ways that other big companies aren't.
I really think they could sue the US government for whatever the hell they want, and settle with a few billion dollars and having the moon emblazoned with the face of Mickey mouse for all of eternity. They're so powerful that it surprises me that they won't just outright buy the rights back from FOX.
I mean once again I know nothing about business, but throw half a billion dollars their way and boom that might cover it. The first MCU movie made after that would easily make that cost back in movie tickets alone.
I dunno, it's times like this where I wish Marvel wasn't so stingy and would just pay the money it'll take to keep these properties intact. But that will never happen, and this heaping pile of excrement will be forced into theaters this August and the rights will stay with FOX for the next seven years or so.

you can basically sue for anything.

well here's the kicker, you can sue all you want, but that doesn't mean you will win. If Marvel denies anything then that holds up in court. however, if they admit to things... that makes them guilty. so no, you wont ever see marvel say "yeah we are upset with fox we want the F4 to fail", "we killed them off in punisher for humor" , "we canceled the F4 and wont merchandise the F4 because we don't want to give FOX money or popularity" you just wont ever hear them say that.. they will say the opposite to look squeaky clean

I hear ya, that definitely makes sense.
Good for Marvel honestly, I say keep kicking dirt in their face until something actually comes of it, and make them look the fool.
