The "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) thread - Part 8

I can't wait for the documentary coming out in 2022 during the same summer as the release of Marvel's Fantastic Four. It's titled:

Grounded: The Untold Story of Trank's Not-So-Fantastic Four

I wouldn't be surprised if, when the full story is out, some of the conflict (and while how true these rumors are or aren't is debatable, I'd be willing to bet there's some serious conflict if nothing else) may be attributable to Trank's frustration with Fox not providing the script, resources and support necessary for him to make a real film.

Trank must surely have known he was never going to make a real film. :o

The footage for both will look almost identical. :o

To be fair, the studio may have been frustrated with Trank and his casting choices (MBJ is confirmed as not having even auditioned for the role. He said as much in an iterview), Trank's moronic comments prior to filming, and Trank tearing up a freaking house (if that pans out). Fox is a huge problem here, but I think Trank is as well.

Yeah its hard not to think that that sort of situation could make for an extremely unpleasant work environment. No-one like knowing that the only reason you have your job is that your bosses couldn't get anyone else. But then thats when people show their professionalism.

At this point the behind the scenes ******** will be more interesting and entertaining than the movie itself.

If it ever comes out.

Also, regarding Kate Mara interviews, there was one where she was being interviewed about some other thing and she was asked about the FF and the relationship between some of the characters.

And she just basically said she had no idea. Literally no idea about the realtionship between the characters she and the other actors are portraying in this movie, the movie she was currently filming.

JESUS.

I wish Marvel will use the original Human Torch(Hammond)just to spite Fox. I mean, he has nothing to do with F4 at all. He was an Invader and was Captain America's partner. I wish they'd have him appear in Cap 3 and Evans makes a joke about how stupid it is for a guy to be on fire, a knock on the role he once played.

Someone else on that site backed up his claims. I suppose there's no reason not to believe them, but yeah it should be taken with some salt

At this point, combined with everything we've seen and heard, it would almost seem less odd to be true than not true.

If not true, that means there's some other reason for this production to be so completely strange in so many ways.

Trank being out of control would explain a LOT.

Jordan, ""They're still gonna go see it anyway."

Teller, "I already know that people hate me for the fact that I’m playing Reed Richards and that we’re ruining their franchise."

Mara, "I’ve never been a fan of comics, I’ve never actually read one."

Kebbel, "He’s Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I’m sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours — I’m a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m 'Doom,"

Kinberg, "X-Men: Apocalypse"

Millar, "Believe in Josh Trank's vision"

Stick a fork in it, it sucks.

It's very telling when the one person out of the 8 involved has said nothing. That indicates that even he knows it'll bomb badly

Here's that interview by the way

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CixxFzhhWk0

Notice he doesn't say comics. He says IN THE MOVIE. She has no idea about the relationships between the character she's playing and the other characters in the movie she's IN.
"I don't really know much about but we're starting in a few weeks."

Wow.

I'm not in the industry but what kind of movie are you making where the principal cast doesn't "know much about it" when you are weeks away from starting.

This interview actually makes me sympathize with Mara. She says she read a few of the comics, and she seems a bit baffled herself at how little she knows (or, is allowed to share). Between this, Kebbel's recent comments and Teller retweeting that negative comment, I'm suspicious this cast was totally suckered into signing onto a lemon.

This will be the 13th Marvel movie made by FOX. Unlucky 13...kinda fitting.

The word grounded and fantastic four should never be used in the same sentence

And everyone else's comments have either been negative or evasive. That was kind of the point.

When, "grounded" is the main tone for the film, that implies that they're shooting for more grounded than The Winter Soldier or The Dark Knight. That's like TASM which was a film that was the very definition of mediocrity by trying too hard to make Peter not so much grounded but mundane. Fantastic Four are one of those properties where you hire a science consultant to advise you on theoretical physics and robotics. The most grounded it should get is something along the lines of Interstellar or Gravity.

Bell is probably that token cast member who realizes early on that he's gotten himself into a mess and looks embarrassed to be there throughout the entire movie.

Yeah that was one of the weirdest, most uncomfortable interviews I've ever seen. Judging by her body language and constant looking around, she didn't look happy talking about it and her stating "it's weird" clearly let's you know she didn't like that fact at all. She looked like she had to catch herself before she said the wrong thing.

Yeah, she had no excitement at all in that answer, just apprehension. All she could muster in defense of the film was that she trusts Trank, that he knows what he's doing. That's a slender thread to hang on to.

Josh Trank is one of the greatest creative minds of our time. You guys simply can't comprehend his genius (which often comes off as eccentricity, btw). Look at the dedication, guys. He's crafting a film about a stone man, so he himself had the dedication to get stoned. His "obnoxious tweets" were simply a trial run for his bold new take on Doom. His trashed rental home was clearly a byproduct of the trial runs of the phenomenal action scenes he was prepping. He's, like, a total method director. Frankly you should all be ashamed of yourselves for not having the creative mind to appreciate Trank's mastery.

The dude's made ONE film..... ONE Stop drinking the kool-aid
